Justin Roiland is an American Voice Actor but that’s not all he’s known for; the man is equally famous as an animator, writer, producer and director. His works have come in short films, video games, web series and TV productions. He is the co-creator and executive producer of the award-winning animated series Adult Swim and Rick and Morty. He is also known for his voicing work in Fish Hooks and The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti. 

Justin Roiland Biography

The super-star animator was born on February 21, 1980, in Stockton, California. He grew up in Manteca, California. Justin was born with dyslexia. He attended Sierra High School where he studied up to the first quarter of his senior year. For the rest of his senior year, Justin studied and graduated from Manteca High School in 1998. Thereafter, he proceeded to Modesto Junior College in California.

The excellently talented voice actor spent his childhood on an almond coppice in Manteca. Justine clearly exhibited an early artistic tendency. As a child, he says he loved watching The Ren & Stimpy Show. The cartoon-loving child has now become one of Hollywood’s rare voice talents, comedians and cartoon creators.

Regardless of his dyslexic condition, the workaholic has done overly well for himself in TV, film, animations and all-around digital entertainment. During the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con International, the pack of talent said the American animator, Pendleton Ward was his main motivation to move into the world of animation.

In 2004, Justin Roiland left for Los Angeles to work with Channel101, an L.A. media channel owned by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab. At Channel101, he acted in short films like 2 Girls One Cup: The Show, House of Cosbys, Acceptable TV and in the Yacht Rock series where he played a minor Christopher Cross role as a musician. Justin appeared from time to time on Comedy Central’s The Sarah Silverman Program playing the role of Blonde Craig. 

The star on his own started making and voicing cartoon creations. He is popular for the cartoon, Rick & Morty which he co-created and produced with Dan Harmon. Justin voiced the two major characters in the animation. The voice actor proved his superb skills by distinctively voicing the two separate characters alongside other characters in Rick and Morty. Justin has co-hosted The Grandma’s Virginity Podcast with Ryan Ridley and Jackie Buscarino since 2010.

The digital manufacturer makes these great cartoons and video games in the comfort of his home. However, in 2016, Justin Roiland set up Squanchtendo (Squanch Games), a Virtual Reality studio which will serve as a combination of Nintendo and Rick and Morty character Squanchy. Justin has created other video games like Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations, Accounting, Job Stimulator, The Lab, Lawbreakers, Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality amongst others. 

Under his belt, Justin Roiland has either worked or appeared in 4 short films, 18 TV productions, 3 web series and 11 video games. Rick and Morty, his most prominent TV production yet earned him the 2018 Critic’s Choice Television Award for Best Animated Series; 2018 Annie Award for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production and a couple of nominations in the past years. His most recent animated TV series include Hot Streets and Robot Chicken. 

Girlfriend, Wife, Sisters

In 2016, Justin publicly said in an interview that he was considering dating and subsequently getting married after giving so much focus on his work in the past few years. Unconfirmed reports suggested that the brilliant animator experienced a harsh break up in the past and since then has not been spotted with any known girlfriend. As much as he is willing to give it a try, Justin however, also categorically stated that he would not want his personal (dating) life to interfere with his professional life in any way. In 2013, he was linked to Abi Lyn Maley. What we know to the best of available information is that Justin is not married yet.

Justin Roiland has a sister, Amy Roiland, whom he grew up with in Stockton. She is an actress and the founder of Fashion/Social Networking. Amy was born in 1984. She is said to be Hollywood’s ‘s look-alike. As creative as her brother, the fashion entrepreneur is also known for her acting work on Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, 2 Girls, 1 Cup: The Show and Young Stephen Hawking. Amy has appeared on Shark Tanks with her business ideas. She is a fashion blogger who uses the pseudonym, Fashion Nerd, and the inventor of Fashion Tap.
