The South African born British golfer Justin Rose is indeed a name to reckon with among international golfers as he is known for his numerous wins and record-breaking legacy which include the European Tour Order of Merit in 2007, the World Golf Championship winner in 2008 and gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Justin Rose Biography 

The talented golfer was born 30 July 1980 in Johannesburg, South Africa with the birth name Justin Peter Rose. He moved to England with his family when he was 5 years old and started playing golf at Tylney Park Golf Club. At age 17, he came into the limelight by launching into the professional league after the 1998 Golf Open Championship held at Royal Birkdale where he emerged 4th and landed a silver medal. However, the road to success was not rosy for Rose as he faced a lot of challenges and failures which prompted him to enrol in the qualifying school for the European Tour in 2000.

In 2001, Justin began to gain grounds again as he started the season by landing second-place consecutively in a tournament in South Africa and closed the year by being listed among the top 40 named for the Order of Merit. His first professional win was at the Dunhill Championship in South Africa held in 2002 and it was followed by  3 other victories which include: a win in South Africa at the Nashua Masters, a win at the Crowns Tournament held in Japan and a win at the Victor Chandler British Masters marking his second title on the European Tour.

Rose was ranked 33 on the Official World Golf Ranking in 2003 and this gave him the opportunity to go for the PGA tour held for golfers in the United States and North America. He was able to maintain a good ranking for a couple of years but in 2007, he experienced a loss at the BMW PGA Championship.

In the subsequent years that followed till date, the hardworking golfer has been able to bounce back and was able to record major victories which include: his first World Golf Championship in 2012 which he earned after defeating American golfer Bubba Watson, his win at the U.S Open at Merion Golf Club, the 2016 Olympic Gold medal he won in Rio de Janiero and his second World Championship which he won in October 2017.

His Wife and Family

The successful golfer got married in December 2006 to a former gymnast named Kate Philips who was active on international scenes before retiring.

The couple is blessed with two adorable kids named Leo Rose born in February 2009 and Charlotte Rose fondly called Lottie. She was born in January 2012.

Justin’s parents are Ken Rose and Annie Rose who are both British Nationals. He has two other siblings named Brandon Harcus his brother and a sister called Margi North.

To the athlete, his parents are his number one fans and his father Ken who was also a former golfer and squash player was said to have been his coach in his early years till he entered the professional league.

However, the man died of Leukemia back in 2002 which was a big blow to Justin. So as to keep his father’s dreams alive, he continued to give his best to the sport which has now landed him at the pinnacle of his career.

His properties include a luxurious house located at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida and a flat situated by a riverside in the London town of Putney.
