Karol Sevilla – Bio

The actress was born as Karol Itzitery Piña Cisneros on the 9th day of November 1999 and her birth took place in Mexico City, Mexico. She is the daughter of Carolina Cisneros and her husband, Javier Itzitery Piña. She holds Mexican nationality and belongs to Hispanic ethnicity.

Karol spent her formative years in Mexico City along with her older brother, Mauricio as well as a stepbrother, Angelo. While she was growing, she was inclined to arts right from a very young age. As a result, she participated in several theatre productions during her high school days. She also started appearing in adverts when she was six years old. Sevilla is an alumna of Centro de Educacion Artisitica (CEA) where she studied from 2006 to 2008.

Career

Upon graduation, Karol made her way into acting; hence making her first screen appearance in 2008. At the initial stages of her career, Karol Sevilla appeared in several Broadway productions including Timbiriche, The Wizard of Oz, and Fantabulosa, among others. Her first screen role came when she joined the cast of the 2008 family drama series La Rosa De Guadalupe. She continued playing various roles in the series until 2016.

The actress also played the recurring role of Monse in the Mexican telenovela Paravolver a amar from 2010 to 2011. Later in 2011, she played a guest role in Amorcito corazón. Next, she portrayed the character of Renata in the TV drama series Como dice el dicho from 2012 to 2014.

Karol Sevilla scored her breakout role when she joined the cast of the Disney series, Soy Luna. There, she played the lead role of Luna Valente from 2016 to 2018. For her remarkable performance, the actress won several awards including Nickelodeon Argentina Kids’ Choice Awards and Nickelodeon Mexico Kids’ Choice Awards for Favorite Actress, respectively.

Her recent works on TV include the 2018 American animated comedy series Ralph Breaks the Internet where she voiced the character of Dani Fernandez. Others are TV shows such as Soy Luna: The Journey, Junior Express, and Pequeños Gigantes USA. She is currently on set for the production of the 2020 movie Quinceañera. There, she plays the lead role of Beatriz Villanueva Contreras.

Additionally, the actress/singer has embarked on several musical tours since the inception of her career. Some of her notable outings include Soy Luna En Concierto (2016 – 2017), Soy Luna Live (2017 – 2018), Que Se Pare El Mundo Tour (2018 – 2019), and many others.

She was raised by her parents – Javier and Carolina along with her two older siblings – Angelo and Mauricio. She is also the granddaughter of Berta. However, the actress fondly gushes about them on her social media pages and that shows they are very supportive of her career.

While Sevilla has garnered fame both as an actress and singer, she is also in a serious romantic relationship with Argentine YouTube star, Lionel Ferro.
