It was on November 19, 1954, that the American actress was born as Kathleen Denise Quinlan in Pasadena, California, U.S. She was brought up in Mill Valley, California, by her parents Robert Quinlan who was a television sports director and Josephine Quinlan who worked as a military supply supervisor.

Although according to her she was born an actor, she did not realize that very early in her life. Nonetheless, it was something that she had always loved.

For her education, she went to Tamalpais High School in California. While she was there, she got involved in gymnastics as well as diving. She also got the opportunity to start her career as an actress when she was there. She studied drama in the school and when the famous filmmaker George Lucas came to cast for his 1973 film, American Graffiti, she made the cut and got her first role as an actress.

Her most recent appearances are in the 2017 films Elizabeth Blue, Parallel, and ADDicted and then the 2018 film Chimera.
