Kayzo – Biography

Born Hayden Capuozzo on the 8th of October 1991, the DJ was born in Houston, Texas, United States. Growing up, he spent his early years in Los Angeles with his family. He is talented in hockey and during his high school days, he played for his school team.

His interest in music began when he was very young and this flair led him to enroll at the electronic music production school, Icon Collective situated in Los Angeles. There, he spent nine months, graduating in 2012. While he was there, he was able to master the basic elements of electronic music and also distinguished himself as a bass artist with aggressive sound and elements of trap, hardstyle and dubstep genres.

Music Career and Rise to Prominence

Soon after his graduation from the music school, Kayzo kicked off his music career in 2012. He recorded his breakout performance when he participated in Insomniac’s Discovery Project challenge that year. After putting up an impressive performance, he became the winner of the competition. As a result of his victory, he got the opportunity to work as a DJ at the Escape from Wonderland Music Festival that year. That outing also marked his first stint as a DJ.

The following year, he launched his first single titled Malfunktion 2.0 in collaboration with Duelle. He followed it up with more singles, Gettin Down featuring Slander (American DJ duo – Derek Andersen and Scott Land) and Recoil with Jordan Alexander. Spreading his tentacles, Kayzo started collaborating with other DJs from other parts of the world.

In 2014, he released a collaborative single titled Crank alongside Australian musician Seek N Destroy. He also launched his first EP, Fired and it was produced by Firepower Records. The year that followed saw Kayzo collaborating with Dotcom to release a single dubbed Take a Picture ft. Sam King. Later in the same year, he dropped another single, Hasselhouse.

The talented DJ went on to found his own record label called Doghouse Recordings; hence producing the EP Welcome to the Doghouse in 2016. In the same year, he released two other hit singles including Home featuring Cesqeaux, and Frequency alongside Gammer. He was also featured with Dotcom and Ookay on Yultron’s song Tempura Roll.

2017 was a very busy year for Kayzo as he released two hit singles – This Time and Whistle Wars. He also performed at the Nameless Music Festival held in Italy that year. His next project, which happens to be his debut album, came in January 2018 and it was titled Overload.

Additionally, Kayzo has done the remix of several songs from popular artists. Some of which include Salt Shaker by Ying Yang Twins and ; Lunatic by and Mercer; Last Resort by Papa Roach, Purple Lamborghini by Skrillex and , among others.

Through his jaw-dropping performances, Kayzo has won the hearts of many hip-hop lovers. His unique and perfect combinations of hardstyle, dubstep, trap, and hardcore music genres have made him a standout DJ in America. He became even more popular as he was invited to perform at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
