Kelly Lebrock’s Bio
Kelly Lebrock was born on the 24th day of March 1960 in New York City into the affluent family of successful businessman Harold Arthur Le Brock of French-Canadian descent and his Irish wife, Mary Cecilia Traynor. She was raised in a swanky neighborhood in Kensington, London.
Modeling wasn’t a path Lebrock had initially hoped to tread until a chance meeting with a man at a party who was in search of models. He picked an interest in her and featured her in an advertisement for British Airways in Seychelles. She was about 16 years old at the time. With much support from her dad, Lebrock got the services of the agent, Eileen Ford and kickstarted what would become a hugely successful modeling career.
She found instant success with modeling and would soon grace the covers of Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue among others. She relocated to New York and became particularly known for the Pantene shampoo commercial which made the line; “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful” become a pop culture catchphrase.
When the modeling lifestyle became too draining, Lebrock switched to acting and again was instantly successful at it thanks to the films The Woman in Red (1984) and Weird Science (1985). Lebrock’s personal troubles would force her to retract from the limelight in the 90s. Since then she has made only occasional appearances in the media.
Ex-Husbands, Husband
Kelly Lebrock has been married thrice in her life, the second one of which she wishes had not happened. A young model with a career moving at light’s speed, Lebrock met and fell in love with the then aspiring film producer, Franco-American, Victor Drai who would later add restaurateur to his repertoire. They got married in 1984.
As Lebrock would later recall, she went to Paris with Drai where they fell so much in love watching a bunch of French films together. It was one of those films that inspired Drai to conceive the idea for, The Woman in Red.
The film might have been a huge success for Drai but unfortunately, it indirectly cost him his wife. With the fame that came with the film’s success, Kelly Lebrock had become a sex symbol and began attracting attention from numerous men. Distracted by the constant attention, her relationship with Drai began to suffer and in 1986, after just two years of marriage, the two were headed for a divorce. Drai who would become a renowned nightclub owner would go on to marry Loryn Locklin in 1990, but they divorced in 1998. Almost two decades later, in 2016, he married Yolanda Krupiarz.
Among all the men that would come knocking for Lebrock’s attention, she became totally smitten by action star Steven Seagal who would become her husband number two. They met in 1986 in Japan, where Lebrock was doing a 24-page feature for American Vogue and Seagal was visiting his ex-wife Miyako Fujitani who was yet to grant him a divorce.
Lebrock’s publicist, Dick Gutman introduced them to each other and soon the pair began a romantic relationship. After finalizing his divorce from ex-wife, Seagal married Lebrock in September 1987. Unfortunately, what initially seemed like the perfect marriage ended in a disaster. Lebrock would later reveal that she endured a lot of trauma in the marriage for the sake of her kids.
She finally filed for a divorce in 1994 citing irreconcilable differences. The highly-publicized divorce was finalized in 1996. A decade later, Lebrock found love again in Fred Steck, a retired investment banker. They have been married since 2007.
Children, Daughter
Kelly Lebrock has three children, all from her marriage to Steven Seagal. They include; daughter Annaliza born in the spring of 1987, son Dominic born in June 1990, and another daughter, Arissa born in 1993.
In an effort to raise her children away from Hollywood, due to the aftermath of her ugly divorce from heir father, Lebrock relocated to a ranch in Santa Barbara where she raised her kids without TV for over two decades.
Lebrock’s youngest daughter, Arissa has attracted attention lately due to her interest in modeling. Kelly appears with her aspiring plus-size model daughter on the Lifetime series, Growing Up Supermodel which debuted in August 2017.
