For so many years, Kevin Sorbo has been making the most of his rare acting skills in Hollywood. He rose to an immense popularity for starring as the title character in the critically acclaimed television series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys which ran for six seasons from January 1995 to November 1999 and the role of Captain Dylan Hunt in the Canadian/American science fiction TV series Andromeda. It was on September 24, 1958, that Sorbo was born to his parents – Lynn Sorbo and Ardis Sorbo. The former is a junior high school biology and mathematics teacher while the latter is a nurse. The actor’s birthplace is called Mound which is in Minnesota, in the United States and his full name is Kevin David Sorbo. Born and raised in a Lutheran family, Kevin is an American by nationality and belongs to the Norwegian ethnicity.
The actor has three siblings identified as Pam, Scott, and Tom Sorbo. Other details of his family background are not accessible to the public. He received his high school education at Mound Westonka High School, from where he joined Minnesota State University Moorhead, where the actor double majored in marketing and advertising. While he was still in college, Sorbo worked as a model for print and television advertising to help raise money for his education and also did television commercials for several brands. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, on October 18, 1966, Sam Jenkins’ birth name is Sandra Lynn Jenkins. She is a writer, actress, and radio host. She graduated from Duke University where she studied Biomedical Engineering. She, however, decided to pursue modeling and acting after her graduation. She has so far, made about 25 screen appearances in the movie industry.
Prior to their marriage, Jenkins played pivotal roles in the restoration of Sorbo’s health, after the actor, who was newly engaged at that time, suffered four strokes as a result of an aneurysm in his shoulder. The incident occurred while he was on a publicity tour for his first film, Kull the Conqueror and in between the 4th and 5th seasons of Hercules, in late 1997. The stroke left Kevin with weakness, migraines, impaired balance, and a permanent 10 percent vision loss but he eventually recovered with time with the help of his wife, as detailed in his 2011 autobiography, True Strength.
