Khalid: Biography (Age)

Khalid Donnel Robinson was born on the 11th of February 1998 in Fort Stewart, Georgia. He was raised by his single mother, Linda Wolfe, who had a career in the United States military as a supply technician. She was also a member of the Army Chorus.

Due to Khalid’s mother’s career in the military, the family got moved around a lot as they lived in various cities, including Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Fort Drum, Watertown, New York; and overseas in Heidelberg, Germany. He received some of his education in the European country before returning to the United States where he attended a school in New York and then America’s High School in El Paso, Texas. It was during this time that he began to take notice of his passion for music as he joined the school’s choir and started taking voice lessons.

During his senior high school year, Khalid began writing and recording songs which he uploaded to his Soundcloud page. It is said that he recorded music out of sheer loneliness in El Paso where he had found it hard to fit in. His music soon gained him a following in his community and even better, caught the attention of the Vice president of A&R for RCA Records, Tunji Balogun. The music executive was impressed by some of the young artist’s early releases, and went on to help him work on his breakthrough single “Location” which reached number 20 on the US Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart by the end of 2016, and made the top 10 of the US Hot R&B Songs chart in January 2017.

Khalid’s new found success got him the opportunity to work with artists like and , as he embarked on his first tour before releasing his debut studio critically acclaimed album titled American Teen on March 3, 2017. The album went platinum in a few months and earned him a number of awards and nominations, most notably from the Recording Academy (Grammys), as the rest became history.

Does He Have a Girlfriend?

Due to the undeniable chemistry, Khalid seems to have had with the female singers he has worked with, like Fifth Harmony singer , Alina Baraz, and , among others, both his fans and fans of the other artists have wished and speculated that they were dating. All of such speculations have proven to be false as the Location crooner is very much single. He has, however, not always been single, as it is said that he had been in a 4-year long relationship with an unidentified girl before he moved to El Paso. The relationship reportedly ended due to the long distance between them.

Is He Gay?

By all indications, Khalid does not appear to be gay. There are no reports that have linked him to having romantic feelings towards any man in the past.
