American professional baseball player, Kris Bryant was one of the key players that helped the Chicago Cubs bring an end to the when they won the World Series in 2016 for the first time in over a century. Kristopher Lee Bryant was born on January 4, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada into an athletic family. His father, Mike played in the Minor League Baseball with the Boston Red Sox. Following in the footsteps of his dad, Bryant became interested in baseball from a very young age and his father gave him his full support.

As a matter of fact, Bryant’s father had to sell off his patio furniture store and picked up a less demanding job just so he could coach Bryant. As a boy, Byrant played baseball with fellow Las Vegas inhabitants and future fellow MLB stars and Joey Gallo.

Kris Bryant impressed so much in high school that the Toronto Blue Jays selected him in the 18th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. However, Bryant refused to sign, choosing instead to attend college where he played for the San Diego Toreros baseball team of the University of San Diego. In college, Bryant broke many records and won many accolades, thus, he was considered as one of the best available players entering the 2013 MLB draft.

After being picked by the Cubs in the 2013 draft, Bryan received a $6.7 million signing bonus. In his rookie season, he earned $471,448 and after an outstanding rookie season, Bryant received a 33% salary raise to $652,000.

Right in his first season in the MLB, Bryant made sure to ward off the ladies after stating in his first ever MLB press conference that he had a girl in his life. That girl would later be revealed to be a certain Jessica Delp and they go way back as far as their high school years.

Both Las Vegas natives, they met while attending Bonanza High School and began dating when they were 15 years old. Like himself, Bryant’s wife is also a sports lover who played both softball and basketball at Bonanza. They graduated together in 2010.
