Although he has come to be known as Lee Majors, it was as Harvey Lee Yeary that the actor was born on the 23rd day of April 1939. His birth took place in Wyandotte, Michigan and he was born to American parents –  Alice Yeary. Sadly, he lost his parents when he was still an infant. As a result of this, Lee was raised by his aunt and uncle who took him at the age of two. He grew up in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

While he was growing, he attended Middleboro High School, where he was a two-sport athlete. He participated both in football and track events organized by the school. Soon after his graduation from high school in 1957, Lee won a scholarship to attend Indiana University. After spending two years at Indiana, he moved to Eastern Kentucky in 1959.

During his college days, he also competed in different sporting events including football and track. Being so talented in sports, Lee had initial plans of pursuing a career in football, however, his hopes were shattered after he suffered a life-threatening back injury. While the injury ended his sports ambition, he decided to join the acting club. Hence, he was featured in plays and theatre productions at the Pioneer Playhouse located in Danville, Kentucky. Upon graduation in 1962, Majors obtained his B.A. in Physical Education and History.

Soon after his graduation, Lee Majors started getting offers from top NFL teams including St. Louis Cardinals, now known as Arizona Cardinals. Alternatively, he decided to relocate to Los Angeles to continue with his acting career. Upon arrival, Lee enrolled at Dick Clayton’s acting school where he spent one year in a bid to hone his acting skills. He also attended Estelle Harman’s acting school at MGM.

The Hollywood icon kicked off his acting career in 1964; at the time, he was 25 years old. He made his first film appearance in Strait-Jacket. The following year, he guest-starred in an episode of the TV show, Gunsmoke. Lee Majors got his breakthrough when he portrayed the role of Heath Barkley alongside in the 1965 ABC series, The Big Valley. After that, he continued to score more roles in high profile movies and TV shows.

Some of his noteworthy appearances include The Six Million Dollar Man (1973 – 1978) and The Fall Guy (1981 – 1986). In the ‘90s, the actor played a variety of roles in films such as Tour of Duty, Trojan War, Keaton’s Cop, Musketeers Forever, and many others. From 2000 to date, the actor has appeared in Primary Suspect, Out Cold, Big Fat Liar, Arizona Summer, The Brothers Solomon, and Jerusalem Countdown, etc. His recent projects include Do You Believe, Ash vs Evil Dead and Fuller House. Their divorce was finalized in 1964 and they both got equally custody of their son, Lee Majors Jr. (b. 8 April 1962).

After eight years, Lee found love again in the person of , a famous American actress. The pair got hitched in the years 1973 and separated six years later. Their divorce was completed in 1981 and they didn’t have any kids from their marriage. Lee Majors’ third attempt at marriage came in 1988 when he married a Playboy Playmate, Karen Velez. The couple had three children – a daughter named Nikki Loren and twin sons – Trey Kulley and Dana Luke. They remained married for six years before their relationship hit the rocks in 1994.

Since 2002, the multi-faceted actor has been married to Faith Cross, an American actress, and model.
