The only female member of the popular band ‘Bad Things’ Lena Zawaideh started experimenting with the drum at the age of 11. The talented musician, songwriter, and vocalist joined the band in 2009 after the founder Snowboarder Shaun White brought her on board. She stayed with the band till 2014 when she was forced to quit because of the problem between her and Shaun White.

Presently, the former Bad Things drummer has moved on with her career, she joined another popular band known as ‘NightPulse’ which deals with genres like pop bliss and Midnight emotionality. According to the drummer, the band’s name is a reflection of her sound. The two words Night and Pulse which make up the name are two symbolic/conflicting ideas that are capable of blending together beautifully, while Night is an expression of dark and not so happy qualities, Pulse is a shakey rhythmic element.

Lena Zawideh’s Bio

The American drummer was born on the 18^th of May 1989 in San Diego California U.S.A under the zodiac sign of Taurus and she is a Christian by religion. Though the social media is not flooded with information on her background, it is common knowledge that the talented drummer spent a better part of her childhood in Carlsbad, San Diego.

Her childhood dream was to become a medical practitioner after obtaining a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, but it happened that fate and providence had other plans for the young star because she fell in love with the drums and started drumming at the tender age of 11. Records have it that Lena attended the University of California after which she started playing the drums with some heavy metal bands alongside her brother.

Her Relationship With Shaun White

Lena Zawaideh had her big break when Shaun White, owner of the popular music band ‘Bad Things’ and former Olympic snowboarder, gave her a job in 2009 with his band. Lena played in the band along with other talented instrumentalists like; bassist Jared Palomar, singer Davis LeDuke, guitarist Anthony Sanudo as well as the founder Shaun White who comes in as a guitarist. According to Lena, her relationship with the former Olympic snowboarder and leader of the popular band is that of boss and employee.

She came on board the band when Shaun offered her a job with them in 2009 though Lena Zawaideh is said to have known Shaun all her life since she grew up with him and Anthony Sanudo. Unfortunately, Shaun sacked her from the band in 2014 without paying her for some of the work she did with them.

TMZ reported that a couple of years after Lena’s dismissal from the band, she made a public complain in a lawsuit filed in May 2016. In the lawsuit, Lena Zawideh demanded $42,000 in back pay and also sued for punitive damages and sexual harassment she suffered during her time with Shaun. According to Lena who was just 16 when she started working with the band, Shaun’s behavior was always strange right from the beginning. She revealed that after consuming excess alcohol, he would become weird but usually apologizes the next day. He did a lot of bizarre things like; forcing her to watch offensive pornographic videos and pictures of male sexual organs including videos sexualizing human fecal matter.

In the process of the trial, the lawsuit was amended to include an occasion when the band leader tried to steal a kiss from Lena at a Halloween party but met with resistance. Shaun was also accused of grabbing Lena’s buttocks against her will and compelling her to get a new haircut and wear revealing clothes which she declined to do. Another bizarre behavior of Shaun’s was putting his hands down his pants and forcing Lena to smell them by sticking his soiled hands in her face.

Why Did She Go To Court?

Lena Zawaideh who expressed her embarrassment on being treated in such a manner by Shaun said that she is pursuing the case in order to put a stop to the harassment of women at work, besides, the Olympic snowboarder should not be allowed to behave as he likes just because he is famous. According to her, she couldn’t just sit back, and watch Shaun make a victim out of another unsuspecting female.

On his own part, Shaun who strongly contested the suit tried his best to compel Lena to undertake a mental health examination because of her claim of suffering mental and emotional trauma resulting from the chain of incidences. However, reports from the media said that Shaun eventually dropped the request and embarked on an out of court settlement with Lena.
