Lis Wiehl was born in Yakima, Washington in the United States on August 19, 1961. She has a brother named Christopher and they were both raised by their parents Dick Wiehl who worked as an FBI agent and a Danish mother. While she was growing up, she went to West Valley High School and after her graduation; she enrolled at Barnard College where she got her Bachelor’s degree in 1983. She also went to the University of Queensland where she obtained Masters of Arts in Literature in 1985. Lis studied further at Harvard Law School where she graduated as a Juris Doctor in 1987.

Career

After her graduation, Lis Wiehl started working as a litigation associate at Perkins Cole Law firm and later on, in 1990, she worked as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s office until 1995. During her stay at the attorney’s office, Lis served as a legal correspondent and contributor for National Public Radio. She served in the United States House of Representatives as a Principal Deputy Chief Minority Investigative Counsel for Democrats during Clinton’s impeachment.

Subsequently, she became a law professor at the University of Washington’s School of Law in Seattle from 1995 to 2001. While at the school, she also conducted Trial Advocacy Program.

Fox News Career

The multi-talented legal analyst joined Fox News in 2001 as a legal commentator for the popular show titled The Radio Factor anchored by Bill O’Reilly. She was given a corner titled Lis on Law on Fox website where she writes on legal issues. Lis also appeared on other Fox shows including The Kelly with , The O’Reilly Factor, Lou Dobbs Tonight as well as Your World with Neil Cavuto. Lis Wiehl left Fox News in 2017 following some issues of sexual harassment against Bill O’Reilly for which she later received $32 million in the settlement.

Asides from being a great legal analyst, Lis is a prolific writer and has published many books including New York Times Bestsellers such as The Separatist, Face of Betrayal, The Newsmakers, The 51% Minority, Eyes of Justice, Snapshot, and Walking Hours among others.

She is married and a mother of two children. She married her longtime boyfriend Mickey Sherman who is also a legal analyst and a criminal defense attorney. The duo tied the knot in 2006 in a lavish wedding held at Old Greenwich, Connecticut restaurant. Their wedding was attended by very high profile people.

Their marriage blossomed until after six years when they started experiencing a lot of issues which could not be resolved. The power couple finally separated in 2012 and Lis Wiehl got the custody of their two children. Since the divorce, she has been focused on raising her kids and there is no news of her relationships.
