1. The Squid and The Whale

This is a 2005 independent arthouse film that was directed by Noah Baumbach with a terrific storyline and though Alexandra Daddario only had a small role in the film, it still topped the list of her best movies. The movie follows the ideal home of Bernard Berkman and his wife Joan who grew apart because of Joan’s newly found talent – writing. Joan’s writing career eventually outruns her professor husband’s career which worsens the tension at home. As they were left with no choice, they opted for a divorce. The family drama, romance, ridiculous double cheating and conflict between their two sons who had to decide which parent to support make The Squid and the Whale a movie to watch time and over again.

More so, the film received positive reviews from top critics who see it as real, funny and at the same time heartbreaking, making The Squid and the Whale one of the best of its kind. It received the award for best dramatic direction and screenwriting at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. It also landed a Grand Jury Prize nomination, 6 Independent Spirit Award nominations, and 3 Golden Globe nominations, amongst others. 2. We Have Always Lived in the Castle

This Alexandra Daddario movie was filmed sometime in 2018 but it was released on May 17th, 2019, by Brainstorm Media. The film is a mystery thriller which was carved from the 1962 novel bearing the same name. Alex got to play the role of Constance Blackwood in this movie alongside Taissa Farmiga who was cast as Murricat Blackwood, Crispin Clover as Julian Blackwood, and Sebastian Stan depicted the role of Charles Blackwood. The film follows the life of two sisters Merricat and Constance, together with their uncle – Julian, who are the only survivors of their family after a poisoning attack. The arrival of their cousin Charles takes things out of hand as he develops an interest in the family wealth. Constance who forms a league with Charles fight to gain control, which might leads to another turn of disaster.

We Have Always Lived in the Castle was received very well by critics and fans. On the Rotten Tomatoes site, it was rated 88% and on Metacritic, it scored 63/100 which earned it a spot on the list of the best Alexandra Daddario movies.

3. New Girl

The TV series New Girl is a mix of comedy, romance, and drama which was put together by Elizabeth Meriwether. The first of its season was aired in 2011 after which 7 other seasons followed with the last released on May 15th, 2018. The storyline surrounds the main character Jess Day, an innocent young lady who is in her twenties having to cope with three other guys who share the same roof with her. Alexandra Daddario plays a minor role as Michelle in the movie and as of now, this show is ranked one of the best in her filmography with a rating of 94% on the Tomatometer.

4. Lost Transmissions

7. Nurse Jackie

Nurse Jackie is a TV series that spanned from 2009 to 2015. It’s a comedy-drama about a nurse who struggles with her love life and her demanding job and to worsen her situation, she has substance abuse issues. Although Alex played a minor role as a young woman in this series, the sitcom is still listed among her best movies and TV shows as it garnered a lot of positive reviews. 8. The Layover

The Layover is regarded as one of the worst Alexandra Daddario movies as it received very negative criticisms. The film is a 2017 American sex comedy that was directed by William H. Macy. Notably, Alexandra Daddario was part of the cast of the movie alongside the likes of Kate Upton, Matt L. Jones, Rob Corddry, Kal Penn, and many others.

The story follows the clash of two young ladies played by Kate Upton and Alexandra Daddario who happened to be best friends, however, they later find themselves competing for a guy; Matt Barr during a layover at St. Louis. In spite of the effort put into the creation of the film, it still got bad reviews.

9. The Choice

This is a romantic drama that came to the screens in 2016, with the storyline carved from the 2007 novel, ‘The Choice’ written by Nicholas Sparks. Alexandra Daddario stars in the movie along with Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer, Maggie Grace, Tom Welling, and Tom Wilkinson. The movie follows Travis Shaw (portrayed by Benjamin Walker) who is a playboy and is apparently terrified of serious relationships. Gabby Holland who is on the verge of getting married moves to Travis’ neighborhood. The two neighbors gradually fall in love with each other and must decide the fate of their relationship.

The beauty of the movie is seen in its storyline that portrays love, marriage, and family. The couple was faced with the question of how far they could go to keep their love alive. However, in spite of the interesting storyline, the movie didn’t receive many positive reviews from critics who felt that the film did not meet up to the anticipated expectations set for it. With a rating of 11% on the Tomatometer, The Choice undoubtedly is one of the worst Alexandra Daddario movies in her filmography.

10. Baywatch

Baywatch is one movie released in 2017 which had quite a number of popular actors and actresses. The American action-comedy follows the same storyline as seen in the TV series bearing the same name – Baywatch. It was written by Mark Swift and Damian Shanon and was directed by Seth Gordon. Starring in the movie is , , , , , and Alexandra Daddario. In Baywatch, we see a lifeguard lead a squad to bring down a drug lord who is a threat to the survival of the bay.

However, Baywatch got a lot of negative criticisms and was generally regarded unfit to be in the modern-day cinemas. Moreso, the movie was nominated at the 38th Golden Raspberry Awards for worst picture, worst actor, worst screenplay and so on.
