Uruguayan professional footballer, Luis Suarez is one of the greatest footballers of his age and time. Luis Suarez Age and Early Life

Suarez was born Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz on January 24, 1987, in Salto, Uruguay. When he turned 7, his parents relocated to Montevideo where Suarez would be raised for the rest of his childhood.

Unfortunately, 2 years after the relocation, his parents divorced. Suarez then picked up an interest in football and began spending most of his time in the streets developing his skills, to support himself financially, he picked up a job as a street sweeper.

Uruguayan sports institution Nacional became attracted to Suarez and in 2003, Suarez began his youth career with the side. He left the side in 2006 to join Netherland’s Eredivisie side Groningen and later Ajax. He improved greatly at Ajax and attracted the attention of English side Liverpool where his star shone further.

The next popular one after Luis is Paolo who is now a retired footballer. Having been born in 1980, Paolo is older than Suarez by 7 years and is the eldest of the Suarez brothers.

Though they played football together while growing up, Luis would go on to outshine his brother Paolo played mostly for El Salvador’s top professional football league, La Primera. Like his brother Luis, Paolo played as a striker and sometimes as a midfielder. Throughout his career in La Primera, Paolo played 368 games and scored 73 goals. He played with the Uruguay U20 in 1999 but never made it to the senior team. Paolo Suarez brought his career to an end in May 2018 following his time with Isidro Metapán.

They met in the year 2001 when Suarez, 15 years at the time, was a mere street sweeper. As the story goes, Suarez had to save up all of his money from his meager paying job to take her out on a date. She has been his ride or die ever since then.

Luis Suarez bit PSV’s Otman Bakkal on the shoulder in November 2010, and Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanović in a 2013 match. The third one which occurred during a FIFA world cup game against Italy received the most media attention. Defender Giorgio Chiellini was the victim. Suarez’s punishment for the deliberate offense was a 4-month match ban and a 9-game international suspension. Suarez later that he lied to his wife about the incident.
