Ivanuec, who was born in Vara din, made his Lokomotiva debut against Slaven Belupo in the Prva HNL on December 20, 2015.
He came on as an 85th-minute substitute for Josip Ori as Lokomotiva won 3–0. Ivanuec didn’t return to the club until the following season, when he made his European club debut on June 30, 2016, against Andorran side Santa Coloma.
