The New Jersey-born actor, Malcolm Jamal Warner was born on August 18, 1970, to Robert Warner Jr and Pamela Warner. His mother, who also doubles as his manager, single-handedly raised him as a divorcee. Warner is not just an actor, he is also a producer, director and also a singer. He was named after two great legends – human right activist Malcolm X, and legendary jazz pianist Ahmed Jamal – and so it is almost no surprise the actor turned out to be what he is today.

His interest in the entertainment industry was discovered at the early age of nine, which was the reason he was enrolled in acting schools to help him in molding his future career. He attended the Professional Children School which is in New York as a child actor and he graduated from there in the year 1988, while still pursuing his career.

The Cosby Show a television sitcom series that was shown on NBC from 1984 to 1992, where he played the character of Theo Huxtable was what brought Malcolm to the spotlight. The producers of the show were on a nationwide search for who will play the particular role but couldn’t find a suitable actor and then out of the blue, little Malcolm comes on the final day of the audition and was selected by no other person but Cosby himself.

Malcolm Jamal Warner’s performance in this wonderful sitcom was outstanding because it didn’t just open doors to greater opportunities for the young lad, it also won him several awards such as Best Young Supporting Actor in a Television Comedy Series (1985), Best Young Actor Supporting Role in Television Series (1990), and so many others. Malcolm remained active in the industry as he appeared in other hit television series and films like; Jeremiah (2002-2004), Malcolm and Eddie (1996-2000), Reed Between the Lines (2011), Drop Zone (1994), Restaurant (1998), Fool’s Gold (2008), and so many others, where he continued to display his prowess. His debut EP The Miles Long Mixtape was released in 2003, and in 2007, his CD Love & Other Social Issues was also released. He plays the bass guitar and is also a poet-performer.

That was as far as it went as the over seven-year relationship did not get to the altar before the duo parted ways in December 2006. Then in 2010, he started dating the award-winning American actress, Regina King which lasted two and half years before they parted ways in 2013.
