Margo Price – Bio

Margo Rae Price was born in Aledo, Illinois, United States of America, on the 15th of April 1983. As the name of her debut album implies, she really is the daughter of Midwest farmer parents whom she lived with in a small town in  Illinois. A town that literally had large expanse of cornfield with just 33 people resident as at the time she was a kid. Though her parents had a farm of their own, they had to sell it off when Margo was two years old in order for her father to take up a job as a prison guard. So not growing up around livestock and plantation was hard for her family who missed having a farm of their own.

She discovered her love for music at a very early age and since she grew up around farms the sort of songs she was exposed to shaped her music taste. As a kid, some of Margo Price’s major musical influences include; Bonnie Raitt, , , Janis Joplin, Bobbie Gentry, and .

In terms of her education, information is quite slim. Nevertheless, Margo Price did attend college but she couldn’t get a certificate due to the fact that she quit just after two years. After dropping out of school, she moved to Nashville to start a career as a performing artiste. She then went on to release her debut album titled, , with the hit lead single “Hands of Time.”

After the release of her debut album in 2016, Margo had the chance to promote her work and grow a decent fanbase as she was invited to do a good number of interviews with regards to her album. She was invited to do an interview on Saturday Night Live after that she made inroads to the UK where she had her UK television debut on Later… with Jools Halland. Still, on her UK experience, she was hosted by Steve Lamacq on one of the BBC Radio 6Music shows. Her album did impressively well in the U.K as it peaked at number 1 on the country album chart in the U.K and earned her three nominations from the U.k America Awards. In 2018, Margo Price was named part of the line up who performed at the C2C: Country to Country festival. Margo later released an album on the 27th of July 2017 titled Weakness which has four tracks. On the 20th of October 2017, she released her second album named, All American Made.

Husband – Jeremy Ivey and Family Facts

Margo Price is a grown woman and a married one at that. Though the exact date of her wedding is unknown, she is happily married to Jeremy Ivey. Interestingly, Jeremy is also a musician like herself and has been quite instrumental to her success especially with the release of her debut breakthrough album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. According to Margo Price, her album may not have seen the light of the day especially when it did, if her husband hadn’t encouraged her in every way after losing one of her twin boys Ezra. Ezra died from heart complications few weeks after he was born in 2010.

Though left with the surviving twin boy Judah, she was near inconsolable and turned to heavy drinking. However, Jeremy was there for her the whole time and managed to pull her out of her depression. Another incredible feat Jeremy pulled off was the decision he made to sell their only car at the time in order to fund the recording of her debut album. She revealed that the decision was actually what turned her career around and she is grateful that he believed so much in her talents which thankfully is paying off.
