Marie Besnier Beauvalot is the daughter of late Michel Besnier, a French billionaire and former CEO of Lactalis – a multinational dairy products corporation. Marie Besnier Beauvalot was born in France on July 30, 1980, into a wealthy French family. Her paternal grandfather, André Besnier is the founder of a multinational dairy production company, Besnier Group which now goes by the name Lactalis. The company came into existence on October 19, 1933, and he served as the company’s first CEO. The company’s main products are butter, cheese and milk. The company has its headquarters in Laval, Mayenne, France. It is known to be the largest dairy producing company in the world today and it is only the second largest food producing company in France.

Marie is a major shareholder at Lactalis. After her father died, Marie and her two elder brothers fully inherited their father’s company and she holds 20.7% of the company’s shares. As at when she inherited her father’s fortune, she was only aged 20, and her fortune immediately made her rank among the world’s top youngest billionaires, with a net worth of $2.5 billion. Marie Besnier Beauvalot is the 357th richest person in the world and the 14th richest female in the world, with a current net worth of $5.1 billion.

Marie has two older siblings, Jean-Michel and Emmanuel Besnier. Emmanuel was born on the 18th of September 1970, in Laval, Mayenne, France. He is the controlling shareholder and CEO of the world’s largest dairy company, Lactalis. Emmanuel began serving as the CEO of Lactalis just after the demise of his father in 2000. The media named him the “invisible billionaire” because he avoids public appearances. Emmanuel Besnier is married to Sandrine Besnier and they have three kids together. He has a net worth of $15.1 billion.

Marie’s other brother, Jean-Michel Besnier is the first child of their parents and he was born on June 5, 1967. He is also a major shareholder of their dairy company, Lactalis. Jean-Michel has a net worth of $2.5 billion.

Aside from being the major shareholders at Lactalis, the three siblings also control about 83% of shares at Parmalat, an Italian multinational dairy and food producing company.

Marie Besnier Beauvalot is married to Stephane Beauvalot. The couple got married on August 28, 2008, in Yonne, Bourgogne, France. Beauvalot was born on April 27, 1979, and works as an investment banker and analyst. Unlike Marie, Stephen seems to be a very private person and so, further information about him and his family cannot be found. The couple, however, resides in their house in Laval, Mayenne, France. Her Parents

Marie’s parents are Christiane and Michel Besnier. Her mother was born in 1942. Marie’s late father, Michel, was the son of André Besnier. Before his death, Michel Besnier passed down the dairy company to his three children. Michel Besnier was a native of Laval, Mayenne, France, born on September 18, 1928, as the only child of his parents. He took over his father’s dairy company after his father, André Besnier passed away in 1955. Prior to André’s death, both him and Michel ran the dairy company together, with André as its CEO. After André Besnier passed away, Michel Besnier took over the family business and assumed office as Besnier Group’s CEO. It was Michel Besnier who changed the company’s name from Besnier Group to Lactalis, and he did so in 1999, a year before his death.

Michel Besnier and his wife had three kids and bought several assets in France and outside France, which includes their home in Marbella, Spain.

On June 11, 2000, Michel Besnier died in his home in Marbella. He passed away at the age of 71. His company, along with his other assets were willed to his three kids, Jean-Michel, Emmanuel, and Marie Besnier Beauvalot.
