Born in Cohutta, Georgia, the United States on the 27th of October 1963 to her parents, Stanley E. Maples, a real estate developer and his pretty model wife, Laura A. Locklear who was also a homemaker.

At a really young age, a young and athletic Maple had her high school education at Northwest Whitfield High School where she had a squeaky record being on the basketball team and being crowned homecoming Queen after serving as her class secretary. This was probably where her love for the runway was birthed.

When she left high school, the beautiful Marla rode on the experiences she had garnered in school and went on to contest in other real and tough beauty competitions like the contest for Miss Resaca Beach Poster Girl which she won in 1983. The next year, she went a step higher to compete at the Miss Georgia USA and finished as the 1st runner-up to the winner. She stepped down a bit the next year and won the Miss Hawaiian Tropic contest in 1985.

After her stint as a model for beauty pageants, she took a break and returned in 1991 with her eyes on a bigger prize, she took to TV, making appearances in different shows. Her first was a celebrity appearance as a Special Guest Timekeeper at WWF WrestleMania VII. That was soon followed with an appearance as herself on the television series Designing Women before she joined the cast of Broadway musical The Will Rogers Follies.

Marla Maples kept up with her busy schedule with appearances in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Something Wilder in 1994, hosting duties at the Miss Universe Pageant and Miss USA Pageant of 1996 and 1997.

She soon veered into the movies and has credits in movies like Executive Decision (1996), Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish (1998), Loving Annabelle (2006), and A Nanny for Christmas (2010).

By now Marla Maples has managed to become a well-known name and was featured on ‘s 2013 Oprah: Where Are They Now?. As a celebrity, she participated in season 22 of the dance competition TV series – Dancing with the Stars – in partnership with pro dancer, Tony Dovolani. They did not make it too far and were eliminated in the 4th week.
