It is really hard for one listening to The 1975 to believe the band only released its first album in 2013. With songs such as The Robbers, Settle Down, and Somebody Else which was released in 2016, one can easily believe the band has been there forever. This is thanks to the talent of its members such as Matty Healy who is its frontman.

Matty Healy Bio (Age)
It was as Matthew Timothy Healy that the English singer and lead vocalist of the Manchester-based indie rock band was born in London, England on April 8, 1989. He was born into a creative family as his mother was Jacqueline Denise Welch, the English actress, and television presenter while his father is Tim Healy, an English actor.
He was brought up alongside his brother Louis Healy by his parents who were together until 2012 when they divorced.
One cannot deny how much the English musician has achieved thus far with his band. Even as his life has been a struggle against things like drug addiction, he has had no reason to struggle financially because of how successful his music has been. That said, Matty Healy has a net worth which is estimated at $15 million. It is from his music that he made most of his fortune.
Parents and Siblings
As pointed out, Matty Healy was born into a very creative family with both his parents as actors. After the divorce of his parents in 2012, his mother went on to marry a man (Lincoln Townley) younger than her by 14 years in 2013. Townley is an English artist and author.
Even though his mother had married before meeting his father, Matty only has a sibling, Louis Healy who was born in 2001. Just like his parents, Louis is also an actor who is famous for Sometimes Always Never (2018) and the TV series Doctors (2010 to 2015).
Matty developed a liking for music since the age of 4. He spent most of his pre-teens and teenager years in Newcastle and Cheshire and he got his education from Wilmslow High school. There, he met fellow band members Ross MacDonald and George Daniel; they began playing covers for punk-rock and pop music before they started writing their songs.
Matty didn’t do too well in school and saw schooling as an impediment to his music. His mother insisted he attends a music school which he did but didn’t last 3 months. He and his band members began playing at local pubs while he took a job at a Chinese restaurant.
The 1975 released their first EP named Facedown in 2012 and one of the songs, The City became a hit. Matty said the success of the album came mostly as a shock as they were doing all the songs for fun. The response the EP garnered encouraged them to take music more seriously. In 2013, the band released its first album, The 1975 followed by I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It (2016), and A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships (2018). Their next album, Notes on a Conditional Form is set for release in the second quarter of 2019.

While growing up, Healy came in contact with many gays and he recognized their freedom of expression which is something that made him to always look up to them. However, he is only attracted to women. He stated that while he can also get attracted to men, it is definitely not in the carnal sense.
He dated model Gemma Jones for a while until 2015 and was rumored to have been dating but they both came out to say they were just friends.
The current girlfriend of the singer is Gabriella Brooks, who is more popular as Gabby. She is an Australian model who has made a name in the UK fashion scene in recent years.
