Mariahlynn Bio, Ethnicity

The Love and Hip Hop star was born as the first of four children in Jersey City, New Jersey on the 17th day of July 1990. She was given the name Mariahlynn Jacoby-Araujo by her parents. Mariahlynn holds American nationality but has a mixed ethnicity; Italian American from her mother’s side and from her father, Puerto-Rican. Her mother is identified as Tasha Jacoby while her father’s name is Raphael Araujo. She is fluent in Spanish and English languages. Details about her educational background, however, are not known.

Growing up was not very easy for her but she managed to keep her eye on the future she had always wanted, one in the music industry. Her parents were in and out of jailhouses and her mother also struggled with drug addiction. Thus, she had to assume responsibility for her family from very early in life and worked at different jobs, as a stripper in night clubs and also did a bit of go-go dancing to support her family. She also had to move from one foster home to another. Despite this, she still finds the time to pursue her musical aspirations.

Mariahlynn is a good rapper and has been composing songs in the genre since her teenage years. Amidst the flood of rejections she faced and memories of her troubled childhood, she found succor in rapping and was very passionate about the craft. Her passion eventually paid off, securing a new lease of life for her and placing her on the map of relevance as well.

Career and Rise to Stardom

Starting off as a rapper in an already star-studded music industry wasn’t rosy for the rising star. Initially, it seemed the sky had no need for another shiner but in time, she carved her niche and has been firmly placed in her constellation ever since.

While going about her business as a dancer in clubs, Mariahlynn was discovered by Mr. Coop who introduced her to the New York famous disc jockey, DJ Self. The latter took it up from there and helped her to create her first single, Once Upon a Time in 2015. The single became a hit and within two months of its release, it racked in over 2 million views on YouTube. It was followed by Money Gun which garnered 400k views within a fortnight of its release in 2016.

Then came her breakthrough. Just as the curtains were being drawn on season six of the VH1 reality show, Love & Hip Hop: New York, she made her debut therein and was placed on the map as an upcoming rap star. She has continued to make appearances on the show since then.

On the heels of her barrage of success, Mariahlynn parted ways with her manager, Rah Ali but was offered a deal by DJ Self in the show’s 7th season. Surprisingly, she turned down the offer, opting to run her career as a free agent instead. Mariahlynn has released other singles including Peep Me Tonight, Physical, Too Much Money, and Never Bitch. In 2017, she released an album titled The Blonde Bomber and is now signed to M.L.E./DYLR record label. Her songs are available on her eponymous YouTube channel. She is also popular on Instagram where she leads more than 1 million followers.

It is unclear how she fares in her finances as an artist though she earns quite a huge sum from the show. The show not only brings her a lot of money but fame as well, making her a sought after headline for tabloids at various times. Meanwhile, her net worth has been estimated to be $300,000 which is expected to rise as her career progresses.

Love Life and Relationships

Mariahlynn’s love life could be best described as complicated. She claimed to have had an on and off relationship with music producer and fellow reality television star, Rich Dollaz. However, he debunked the claims in 2016, tweeting that he has never messed with any lady on the show and that includes Mariahlynn.

As though that was not enough, she reiterated her claim during the LHHNY season 9 reunion. Rich did not deny her claims this time but felt embarrassed that she revealed private information. He had a vasectomy after his diabetes diagnosis, a fact privy only to Mariahlynn until recently. That could suggest that they were once an item.

She also dated Cisco Rosado, the CEO of CMG Entertainment and was romantically linked to Safaree Samuel and singer James R, both of whom are also cast members on the show. She started dating James R in November 2017 but broke up with him after she found out he was two-timing with another cast member, Sophia Body.
