Melissa received her certificate in Broadcast Meteorology in 2010 after she completed Mississippi State University’s atmospheric sciences and geosciences classes.

Career

Magee joined the Action News team in 2009 but before then she had worked for WNYW, New York, as the midday weather forecaster; she also anchored the Good Day New York morning and evening show weather forecast. Melissa Magee also created and produced original digital content for the station’s website and served as a feature reporter.

She, however, didn’t begin her career at WNYW but at Pennsylvania State University with the U.S commercial weather forecasting services company AccuWeather. She began her career at a CBS/Fox affiliate station in Bakersfield, CA as a weekend weather personality, anchor/reporter. It was during this time that she developed the love and passion for weather forecasting.

Melissa’s promotion to Noon Anchor at KBAK-TV became an opportunity for her to further expand her weather duties and she soon became one of the network’s main weather anchor. She also appeared daily on Bloomberg TV’s morning show as a weather anchor.

They dated for a couple of years and during a romantic outing in Hawaii in July 2016, Perry popped the question, she said yes and the two have remained together ever since. His hobbies include marathons, rock climbing, and cycling tours.

Before Perry, the beautiful Afro-American meteorologist was married to Ronnie Schlemmer. They swore forever at Anthony’s Lake Club in May 2010 but their union ended in a divorce a few years later.
