Hollywood actress Michelle Williams first shot into the limelight in the late 90s when she landed a spot in the main cast of the teen drama series Dawson’s Creek. For her breakthrough role as Alma Beers Del Mar in the 2005 romantic drama film Brokeback Mountain, Williams received her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She also received Oscar nominations for her performances in Manchester by the Sea (2016), Blue Valentine (2010), and My Week with Marilyn (2011).

Early Life and Rise to Fame
Michelle Ingrid Williams was born on September 9, 1980, in Kalispell, Montana to Carla Ingrid (née Swenson) and Larry R. Williams. Her father Larry Williams is a stock trader and a former Republican party politician. She has one younger sister Paige and three older half-siblings from her dad’s earlier marriage – Jason, Kelley, and Sara.
At the age of 9, Michelle’s family relocated to San Diego, California. She developed a keen interest in acting at a pretty young age and her supportive parents were always willing to drive her to movie auditions in Los Angeles.
In 1993, Michelle Williams made her television acting debut on an episode of the hit series Baywatch. The following year, she marked her feature film debut in the adventure family film Lassie. This was followed by several guest roles in a number of TV series as well as movie roles. In order to combine education with her blossoming acting career, Michelle opted for in-home tutoring and was able to complete her high school diploma. She equally gained emancipation from her parents at the age of 15 and moved to Los Angeles to live by herself.
In 1997, Williams landed her first major role starring as Jen Lindley in the teen drama series Dawson’s Creek. The talented actress appeared in all 6 seasons of the series from January 1998 to May 2003. She relocated to New York afterward and played supporting roles in the drama film The United States of Leland (2003) and the comedy-drama The Station Agent (2003). The latter received much critical acclaim and brought Michelle a SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast. Beyond that, she received recognition for her impeccable portrayal of emotionally troubled characters in such movies as Land of Plenty (2004), Wendy and Lucy (2008), Blue Valentine (2010) and Manchester by the Sea (2016).
2005 saw Michelle Williams land her breakthrough role in the tragic romance Brokeback Mountain for which she received her first Academy Award nomination. She also received another Academy Award nomination as well as a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the 2010 romantic drama Blue Valentine. Her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn (2011) equally earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress as well as her 2nd successive Academy Award nomination.
The talented actress marked her Broadway debut in the 2014 revival of the musical Carabet. She also featured in the 2016 Broadway revival of Blackbird for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Michelle returned to the screen starring in the drama film Manchester by the Sea (2016) for which she received her 4th Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2017, she received another Golden Globe nomination for her lead role in the crime thriller All the Money in the World.
Her Husband
Michelle Williams is notorious for her well-guarded private life, however, she has not been known to have entered into any marriage in the past. Between 2004 and 2007, Michelle was in a relationship with Australian actor-director Heath Ledger. The duo had met on the set of the movie Brokeback Mountain. As a couple, Williams and Ledger lived together in New York and in October 2005, the couple welcomed a child together. Their relationship came to an end in September 2007, the couple parted ways amicably.
Michelle Williams has also been in a relationship with director and filmmaker Spike Jonze. She and Jonze met on the set of Synecdoche, New York, in which Michelle had a starring role and Jonze served as producer. The relationship lasted from July 2008 to September 2009.
The star has also been linked with other eligible men including fellow actor Jason Segel, however, her relationship with the How I Met Your Mother star ended in January 2013. Michelle found love again in 2017 when she began dating a New York financial consultant named Andrew Youmans. The duo has been spotted together on several occasions.
