Neil Walker was born into the family of Tom and Carolyn walker in America. His father Tom Walker was an athlete, who was a major league pitcher from 1972- to 1977 and he was a former teammate of Roberto Clemente.

His mother’s occupation is not known. Neil is not the only player in his family, his brother, Matt, played college baseball and made it to the minor leagues with the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles.
