When Nicole was about 6 years old, her parents got divorced, after which her mother would relocate with her and her sister to Louisville, Kentucky where she remarried a certain German-American man named Gary Scherzinger who would come to adopt Nicole, hence her surname.

Scherzinger gets her artistic side from her mother Rosemary who was a professional hula dancer. The entertainer also gives credit to her mom for the level of success she has achieved today. Nicole began her education at Bowen Elementary, and later Meyzeek Middle School. She would later attend Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School to hone her artistic traits.

Thanks to a scholarship earned from duPont, Nicole Scherzinger was able to attend Wright State University where she majored in theater arts and minored in dance. While in college, she acted in regional musicals and was able to meet some already-established musicians.

Her start to a music career came when the American rock band, Days of the New hired her as a back-up vocalist. She dropped out of school in 1999 to tour with them. Following an amazing performance on the reality talent show, Popstars, Nicole became part of the band Eden’s Crush. Her growing exploits with the band ended due to financial troubles faced by their label.

The budding singer turned down an invitation from will.i.am to join The Black Eyed Peas as she was more interested in a solo career. However, she would wind up as part of the girl group The Pussycat Dolls which shot her to worldwide recognition thanks to their debut single “Don’t Cha” which was a major international hit.

Despite releasing two albums and lasting for just 4 years from 2005 to 2009, The Pussycat Dolls achieved tremendous success. Their 2009 hiatus was so each group member could focus on their solo careers. Nicole’s solo music career was also successful though short-lived with only two albums released in 2011 and 2014. She has sold at least 16 million records as a solo artist.

Though she was better known for her music, Nicole Scherzinger from 2002 began making regular appearances in films and TV shows. She became more frequent following the PCD break. She voiced roles in Moana (2016) and Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018).
