Oliver Sykes is a British musician best known as the frontman of the rock band, Bring Me to the Horizon. The band has released five studio albums since their inception in 2004. He is also the founder and owner of an alternative clothing line, Drop Dead Clothing.
Oliver Sykes’ Bio & Age
The Bring Me to the Horizon (BMTH) frontman was born Oliver Scott Sykes in Ashford, Kent, England on the 20th day of November 1986. His parents are Ian and Carol Sykes and he has an elder brother, Tom who he also did music with. He moved with his parents to Australia where they stayed for six years before making their return to the United Kingdom and settling in Stocksbridge in Sheffield, South Yorkshire where he attended Stocksbridge High School. His inclination to music started in school where he would carry out several projects music wise.
In high school, he started crafting compilation CDs and short tracks under the pseudonym Quakebeat. The art turned out to be a huge career forged in the music industry. He played as a part of various bands but would later form his own group, a rock band named Bring Me to the Horizon in 2004 which became famous within a short time. Other members of the band are Lee Malia, Matt Kean, Matt Nicholls, and Jordan Fish. They have released five studio albums including Count Your Blessings (2006), Suicide Season (2008), There is a Hell. Believe Me, I’ve Seen It. There is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret came in 2010. Others are Sempiternal (2013) and That’s the Spirit (2015).
Oliver Sykes is not just focused on his group but takes the chances whenever they come to collaborate with other bands as well. His collaborations are wrought irrespective of whether it is with a band or a solo artist; he cuts across borders. He was featured as a guest vocalist in the music video Silence Speaks with English metalcore band, While She Sleeps, and was briefly featured in the music video for Charli XCX’s song “Boys” along with other artists such as , . Some other bands he has worked with include the English rock band You Me at Six, British Metalcore band, Architects, American rock band, A Day to Remember, the Australian hardcore band, Deez Nuts as well as the French five-piece band, Admirals.
Oliver Sykes was nominated for the 2014 Best International Band and Best Album in Alternative Press. He won the award for both categories. Prior to the Alternative Press Award, BMTH was nominated in AIM Independent Music Awards for three different categories in 2011 including Independent Breakthrough of Year, Hardest Working Band or Artist, and Best Live Act.
His musical influences include Punk rock and metalcore bands such as Linkin Park (who inspired him to write music and form his own band after he watched them perform in some of their early shows), Misfit, Simple Plan, and Every Time I Die.
Added to his musical exploits, Oliver went the entrepreneurial path and founded the alternative clothing line Drop Dead Clothing. He also wrote a graphic novel entitled Raised By Raptors with Drop Dead Clothing artist Ben Ashton-Bell.

Although there is no account of Oliver’s previous or current marriage producing any child as yet, there are about a daughter he fathered. The said daughter is named Stephanie Marie Sykes though her mother’s name is not known. However, giving the number of partners he had in the past, the account of him having a child could be true.
