Pamela Donielle Oliver (Pam Oliver) was born on the 10th day of March in the yeat 1961 in Dallas Texas into a family where her father was a United States Airforce personnel. As the nature of her father’s job demanded, the Olivers moved around the States a lot having their abode in various places and at various times. They notably lived in Texas, Michigan, Washington, California, and Florida.

Growing up, Pamela was an exception from a typical child and a girl in particular. When her peers were engrossed watching children shows on television, she would spend her time watching one sporting event or the other. Thus she began grooming herself in the knowledge of sports from a very long time. Donielle studied at Niceville High School, a public high school in the city of Niceville, Florida. In the school, she participated and excelled in sports like basketball, tennis as well as track and field events. With her exceptionality in high school sports, she earned a sports scholarship to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where she studied broadcast journalism.

Pam Oliver never relented in the pursuit of her sports interest, she dominated the tracks as she emerged a college All-American in the mile relay and 400-meter races. For everything that has a beginning, there must definitely be an end for it; Pam’s stay in Florida A&M University came to an end in 1984 when she graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. She was later inducted into the Florida A&M Hall of Fame in 1996 in recognition of her innumerable contributions and exploits in sports while in the college. Following her graduation, Donielle plunged into her media career and has never relented since then.

She secured her first job in 1985 at WALB in Albany, Georgia as a news reporter for the NBC/ABC-affiliated television station. Her first job, however, turned out to be one which she will not be in for a very long time as she moved to Huntsville in Alabama to begin working with WAAY-TV in 1986. From this ABC-affiliated television station, the sports enthusiast moved over to WIVB-TV in Buffalo, New York in 1988 before she joined WTVT in Tampa, Florida in 1990. It was in the Fox owned-and-operated television station – WTVT that her interest in sports and journalism training were merged into one. She began working as a sports anchor in 1991. Pam Oliver continued working in this same capacity when she joined KHOU-TV in Houston.

In 1993, she entered another phase of her career as she got hired by the giants in the industry. First, ESPN and Fox Sports 2 years later. In the latter, Pam Oliver worked alongside and Pat Summerall (the network’s number-one broadcast team) as a sideline reporter. In addition to this, Pam equally worked as an anchor on two of the network’s shows – Southern Sports Tonight and Southern Sports Report. Her time in Fox Sports was remarkable with her NBA playoffs reporting, interviews with many stakeholders in the industry as well as creating many feature programs that focused on many sportsmen and women.

She joined TNT as a sideline reporter in the year 2005 for the coverage of the NBA. Her last season in the NFL as a sideline reporter was in 2014 as she got moved to the network’s #2 NFL broadcasting team. She remained with the team till 2018 and is no doubt still a big name in sports journalism.
