Born to Patrick Bracy and Lisa Beverley on the 12th of July and in the year 1988, Patrick Beverley was raised by his mother Lisa and his maternal granddad, Rheese Morris. It is said that he figured out what he wanted to do with his life when he was 12 and started working towards it. His goal was a precise one – to become a professional B-baller and play in the NBA.

Patrick was a student of John Marshall Metropolitan High School at East Garfield Park, Chicago. It was at the public school that he started nurturing his abilities in the game. His efforts were made manifest in his senior year when he led the state with 37.3 points per game. This brought him several honors as he was named Player of the Year and picked to take part in the national high school All-Star game (Roundball Classic) of 2006.

To further his education and take his pursuit of a career in basketball to the next level, Patrick Beverley became a student of the University of Arkansas where he joined the Razorbacks basketball team. Patrick wasted no time in proving his worth with the team. He finished his freshman season on a fantastic note, making the All-SEC second team and the SEC All-Freshman Team. Additionally, he was honored by a handful of associations as the Freshman of the Year.

Beverley kept up with his performance the next season and was nominated for prestigious accolades like the Naismith Trophy and the Wooden Award. Sadly, his time with the Razorbacks came to an abrupt end owing to his inability to thrive academically. It was a nightmare for Patrick when he was roped for malpractice. Granted that it was as though his goal of playing basketball professionally was not going to be realized, the chap had two options – stay out his one-year suspension and then return to Arkansas as a junior or play elsewhere and earn money from it.

He kissed the Arkansas Razorbacks goodbye, embraced the BC Dnipro of the Ukrainian Basketball League (UBL) and inked a one-year deal with the side. As the contract came with a clause that stipulated he could leave after the season, Patrick decided to take advantage of the 2009 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, his time with Dnipro saw him become a UBL Slam Dunk Contest champion, this was in 2009.

NBA Career

This bloke attained his NBA dream when he was drafted in 2009 by the Los Angeles Lakers. As it happened, he was selected with the 42nd overall pick in the second round.

Within some hours after he was drafted, the Miami Heat came for him. However, Patrick Beverley didn’t get to play for the team as he soon joined the Greek club Olympiacos B.C. With the side, he would win the Greek Basketball Cup in 2010 before joining Russian BC Spartak Saint Petersburg. Patrick won the Russian Cup in 2011 and remained with the team until January 2013 when NBA’s Houston Rockets handed him a multi-year contract.

He was first assigned to the Rockets’ affiliate team (Rio Grande Valley Vipers) of NBA’s minor league before he eventually made his NBA debut with the Rockets on the 15th of January 2013 and against the Los Angeles Clippers. Beverley blazed for the Rockets until the Los Angeles Clippers came for him sometime in June 2017. Patrick is still with the NBA side as at the time of this writing.

Unlike many of his peers, Patrick Beverley’s private life has been a bit of a mystery. Despite the rumors that he engaged his girlfriend Amber Spencer in 2014, it is not certain if the basketballer is married. However, it is known that the NBA star started dating Amber soon after he broke up with his ex-girlfriend, Lira Galore.

This American B-baller is a father of two, a son and a daughter respectively named Everett and Adlaia Beverley. Thus far, we have been unable to ascertain who the mother of his kids is.

Patrick Beverley’s mom, Lisa Beverley is surely one of the most important people in the basketballer’s life. She raised Patrick with the help of her father, Rheese Morris who passed away in May 2017. Following his death, the NBA star revealed that the man was his biggest fan and supporter. According to him, the man always wore his jerseys even when he was playing in Europe.

In early May 2018, Patrick’s mom was in the news for on the television game show, The Price Is Right. Lisa has been a good mom to Patrick in every way. Reports have it that she traveled with him to Ukraine and stayed for a while just ensure he’s well settled in.

Patrick isn’t the only child of his mother. Lisa has a little daughter named Mya. Her life now revolves around Patrick, Mya, and her which Patrick helped in setting up at the east side of Houston.
