Torres made his La Liga debut on the 26th of November, 2017, in a 2–3 home loss to Sevilla FC, replacing fellow youth graduate Manu Trigueros late in the game. Ten days later, he made his UEFA Europa League debut, starting and finishing a 0–1 group stage home loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Torres was loaned to Málaga CF for a year on August 6, 2018. During his time at the club, he only missed four Segunda División games as they advanced to the promotion play-offs, and his original club recalled him. Torres, after that, established his place in Villarreal’s starting XI, appearing in every league match. He was given a contract extension until 2024 in October 2019.

On the 4th of October 2019, Torres was called up for the first time by Robert Moreno for UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway and Sweden.
