Phillip Jerrod Heath who is popularly known by his fans as Phil Heath was born on the 18th day of December 1979 in Washington, USA. Phil whose nationality is American and ethnicity Afro-American grew up as an active and athletic child.
While it has been super difficult to get factual information regarding the identity of his parent and siblings, we can tell that during his growing up years, his parents were too busy to pay enough attention to him due to their successful career which made Phil become self-reliant at an early stage. On his own, he got to master many basic survival skills like cooking and other household chores.
Phil’s early education can be traced to Rainier Beach High School where he eventually joined the school basketball team. Through his performance in the team, he was afforded the opportunity to proceed to the University of Denver in Colorado through a full athletic scholarship. While majoring in business administration and IT at the University of Denver, Phil continued with basketball.
He picked interest in the weight rooms while training for basketball. As he as inspired by the spirit of camaraderie and the hard work exhibited by his friend who frequented the weight rooms, Phil consequently made a conscious decision to join them. Initially, the budding bodybuilder saw weightlifting as a way to improve his jumping power and presence while playing basketball. But after some time, Phil actually became tired of playing basketball.
The belief that basketball didn’t hold the niche potential for the level of greatness he coveted began to sink into his psyche and that was when he made another conscious decision to return to the weight room which eventually became his refuge. The fact that Phil held down three jobs which included bouncing at nightclubs, web-development and basketball academy training did not deter him from bodybuilding training which eventually made him to toy with the idea of creating an awesome body as a lifetime goal.
In 2002, he began to take bodybuilding seriously. He engaged in reading bodybuilding magazines to learn as much as possible about effective training strategies, nutrition, and supplementation.
His first competition was The Rocky Mountain Northern Physique Committee where he was proclaimed the champion. This earned him the nickname “The Gift”. He secured the second-place position when he contested in the event a second time and earned the title of Mr. Colorado when he took part at the NPC Colorado State Show. Consequently, he got sponsorship deals with renowned brands. In 2007, Phil made appearances at The New York Pro Championships and The Colorado Pro Championships and won both competitions which gave him the impetus to contest in the Arnold Classic where he came out at the 5th position
Today, Phil is known as a six-time Olympia champion which he won consecutively from 2011 to 2016. In 2014, the superstar bodybuilder was crowned at the Mr. Olympia’s golden jubilee. So far, he has established a tie with Dorian Yates record, one win away from, ’s 7-time record, and two wins away from the man at the top; Ronnie Coleman who recorded eight wins in all.

The superstar bodybuilder and his girlfriend Jennie Laxson dated for several years before deciding to tie the nuptials on the 23rd day of June 2007. After eight long years of matrimony, the couple’s marriage started developing problems.
The cause of the friction was not disclosed to the public however, it is on record that in 2015, Phil filed for a divorce which was finalized before the end of the year.
As such, the couple became officially divorced in 2015 but there was no record of any offspring from the union. On his own part, Phil did not put his love life on hold, he is currently in a relationship with a beautiful model who goes by the name Shurie. It is said that she hails from the Mile High City of Arizona.
