Prince Royce was born Geoffrey Royce Rojas on 11th of May 1989. He was born and raised in The Bronx, New York City. His parents are both Dominicans and he is the second of 4 children. He was quite an early bloomer as he sang in the choir and competed in talent shows while in elementary school. The famed star began writing poetry as a young teenager and eventually switched to songwriting. He started recording his own music at the age of 15 but got his big break at age 19 when he signed his first recording deal.

Royce got signed to Top Stop Music in 2009 after the founder of the label Sergio George listened to 3 of his demos. He set to work immediately and by March 2010, he took the Latin music scene by storm with the release of his self-titled debut album Prince Royce which topped both the US Billboard Latin Albums chart as well as the Tropical Albums chart. The album spawned 2 hit singles “Stand by Me” and “Corazón Sin Cara” both of which peaked atop the Billboard Tropical Songs chart with the latter also reaching No. 1 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart.

Following the massive commercial success of his debut album, Prince Royce won 3 awards at the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards including the Tropical Album of the Year Award. The album was also nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. This talented singer dropped his second album Phase II in April 2012 and just like the one before it, it topped the US Latin Albums and the Tropical Albums charts. The album generated chart-topping singles like “Las Cosas Pequeñas” and “Incondicional” and also got the singer nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical Fusion Album.

In a similar fashion, Royce’s third studio album Soy el Mismo which was released in October 2013 did not disappoint at all. In addition to generating chart-topping singles like “Soy el Mismo”, “Darte un Beso” and “Te Robaré”, it also got the singer nominated for the 2014 Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. Interestingly, Royce opted to tow a different path for his 4th studio album Double Vision which was released in July 2015. Unlike his previous albums, it was recorded primarily in the English language and it featured collaborations with world-famous superstars like , , , and . Two of the album’s singles “Stuck on a Feeling” and “Back It Up” charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

Just like the one before it, Prince Royce’s 5th studio album Five also contained lyrics in both Spanish and English. It was released in February 2017 and it featured collaborations with , , and several other music stars. The album contained several hit singles including “La Carretera” which was nominated for the 2016 Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical Song.
