Following in the footsteps of his father, Falcao began playing football from a very tender age. He started out his youth career in 1999 playing with Colombian Categoria Primera football team Lanceros Boyacá.
Falcao joined Argentine club River Plate in 2005 and after 4 years, he moved to Portugal to join FC Porto in a deal worth about €4 million. Falcao greatly improved his value playing at Porto winning a double in the 2010/2011 season and also becoming the first Colombian to win the Portuguese Golden Ball award.
His outstanding performance at Porto opened the floodgates of interests from big teams. He chose Atletico Madrid joining them in August 2011 on a club record transfer fee of €40 million. After two seasons with the Spanish side, Falcao was on the move again, joining Monaco in May 2013 on a club record deal worth €60 million. However, an injury robbed him of playing time for some months.
Subsequently, Falcao was loaned out to Manchester United and then Chelsea before returning to Monaco in 2016. He led the team to the 2016/2017 season Ligue 1 trophy.
About His Wife – Lorelei Taron
Many star footballers of the world out there have become notorious for their many escapades with women, mostly supermodels aka the genetically-blessed. However, Falcao is among the few who have managed to remain loyal to one woman over the years, a virtue that has a lot to do with his Christian faith.
His love story with his Argentine singer wife Lorelei Taron began in 2004 when he met her in a church in Argentina. Falcao at the time was playing for the Argentine professional club side River Plate. In their first year of meeting, Falcao made no advances to her, however, subsequently, they became closer due to the fact that they had a lot of mutual friends.
Taron didn’t immediately succumb to Falcao’s advances but the star player pressed on until she gave in. Taron has revealed how her mother helped her to begin a relationship with Falcao. Following a period of getting to know themselves, Taron and Falcao went to the altar on December 13, 2007, in Buenos Aires. She was just 19 years old at the time, however, looking back at their journey so far, it is apparent that the teenage Taron knew exactly what she was getting into.
Lorelei Taron has since fully supported her husband in his career, defending him at every criticism and constantly relocating with him everytime he changes teams. Asked by how she manages to cope with the constant relocation, Taron said she always has it at the back of her mind that every relocation is only temporary, thus she tries to learn and enjoy every new city to the fullest.
Having kids for Taron and Falcao did not happen instantly. The couple waited until August 2013 when they welcomed their first issue, a daughter named Dominique García Tarón. Two years later, in February 2015, they welcomed yet another daughter named Desiree. They added a son in 2017.
Despite being a popular music star in Argentina, Falcao’s wife maintains a very low profile avoiding the limelight as much as she can. She instead dedicates her time to raising her kids, praying and studying the bible.
Though Lorelei Taron’s nationality is Argentine, she was born to German parents on June 17, 1988. Music was something she loved growing up and in 2016 she worked with singer Alex Campos on her debut album.
