Remo Freuler’s Career
Freuler began his youth career with FC Hinwil before moving to FC Winterthur in 2005. Freuler made his professional debut with Winterthur at the age of 18 in 2010, appearing twice as a substitute at the end of the 2009–10 Swiss Challenge League. The next season, Freuler was cut from the squad and loaned back to Winterthur during the winter break.
Winterthur: Freuler joined a Winterthur team that was ninth in the Challenge League after the first half of the season, barely two points above the relegation zone. He made 14 appearances for Winterthur that season, highlighted by his first career goals for the club in the form of a brace against Kriens on March 4, 2012, and Winterthur finished fourth.
Luzern-Freuler was moved to Luzern on February 18, 2014, and he made his club debut on March 2 against St. Gallen under manager Carlos Bernegger. Remo started every game of the new season for Babbel before being transferred to Atalanta B.C. in Italy.
Atalanta-Freuler joined Atalanta for €2 million on January 19, 2016, and made his Serie A debut on February 7 against Empoli. On May 2, he scored his first goal for the Bergamo team against eventual runners-up Napoli. Remo made 29 appearances in the 2016–17 season, which saw the club finish fourth in the standings, a nine-place improvement under first-year manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
