Early Days & Career

Born in Amherst, New York on May 14, 1989, Gronkowski’s interest in sports started back in his high school days at Williamsville North High School where he played tight end in football and center in basketball on the Spartans sports teams. During those years, 36 receptions for 648yars and 7 touchdowns on offence accompanied by 73 tackles and 6 sacks on defence were recorded for him which landed him an All-Western New York first-team and All-State second-team player titles. He also won several titles as a Senior at Woodland Hills High School in Churchill which includes a SuperPrep All-American and a PrepStar All-American title.

During his university days at the University of Arizona, he played for the Arizona Wildcats and had an excellent performance which gained him the titles ‘The Sporting News Freshman All-American, The Sporting News freshman Pac-10 and All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention Player’. Though the player missed 3 games during the opening season of the 2008 season, he was able to make up for the loss in his subsequent games and was named an Associated Press third-team All-American and All-Pac-10 first-team tight end. Upon graduation in 2009, Gronkowski was signed by the New England Patriots in 2010.
