Born Robin Michelle Meade on April 21, 1969, this stellar television personality grew up in New London, Ohio in a low-class family with her mother and father Linro Meade who was a coal mine worker but later became a minister in their local church. According to Robin, their lives changed for the better after her father became a minister. She attended New London High School from where she graduated and moved on to Malone University but later transferred to Ashland University from where she eventually graduated in 1991 with a degree in programming and performance and a minor in political science.

Career

Robin Meade’s media career beginning was hectic as she tried to make it up the ladder of success as fast as possible. She began as a television personality/Newscaster at WMFD-TV Mansfield, Ohio where she was a reporter, from here she moved on to be an anchor as well as a reporter at WCMH-TV in Columbus and also at WJW-TV in Cleveland. She anchored at stations like WSVN-TV and WMAQ-TV where she had the opportunity of covering the 1996 Olympics including the bombing at the Centennial Olympic Park.

Sooner than expected, Robin made a move to HNL formerly known as CNN Headline News in 2001, where she anchored programs and coverages like Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. You could say her stay at HLN has been quite productive as she now hosts the Morning Express with Robin Meade with colleagues Bob Van Dillen, Mike Galanos and . The show has garnered a huge number of viewers and there seems to be no slowing down for Robin.

However, before she found massive fame as a television personality, Robin had participated in a pageantry that saw her become Miss Ohio in 1992. Banking on that success, she contested for Miss America but came out as a semi-finalist which in itself was a good feat.

Concerning her other endeavors, Robin Meade is a published author. Her first book entitled Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too was published in 2009 and as a country musician, her album titled Brand New Day was quite the hit.

In 2002, Lycos recognised Robin as one of the most popular television news personalities in the broadcast news industry and in 2004 she scored 40% of the votes to become the “Sexiest Newscaster” through an online poll conducted by Playboy.com. The next year being 2005, she was the commencement speaker for her alma mater Ashland University’s 2005 graduation ceremonies and was also given the Young Alumnus Award for her achievements in broadcasting.

Prior to all of these the beautiful anchor achieved a regional Emmy Award for bravely covering the 1995 collision between a school bus and a train in Fox River Grove, Illinois.
