The American professional basketball player Ronald Delaine Baker fondly called Ron Baker was born March 30, 1993, to Neil and Ranae Baker in Hays, Kansas where he grew up alongside his two other siblings Audrey and Sloan. He attended Scott City High School, Scott City, Kansas, after which he enrolled at Wichita State College, where he studied Business Finance from 2012 to his graduation date in 2016.

Ron Baker started his career way back in his high school days and sources have it that he was a major player who assisted his team to achieve a 25-1 record, landing him the title 3A First Team All-States in Kansas.

After a successful high school basketball career, Ron Baker’s college career did not actually start off on a high note as he was redshirted for the whole first season of his college career which made him not to play for the Shockers. Although he was later given a chance to play for his college team, Ron was not able to make an impressive performance as an efficient scorer, coupled with an injured left foot, he managed to appear in only 18 games. However, he was later able to redeem himself when he led the Wichita State Shockers to prosper with three conference titles. He also played a major role in helping his college team which recorded nine NCCA tournament wins. During his last days in college, the 2015/2016 season, Ron led the Shockers in scoring 14.0 points, made 48 rebounds, recorded 3.2 assists, alongside 1.5 steals in more than 31.6 minutes for 35 games.

In spite of having a successful career in high school and college, Ron Baker was not drafted into the NBA which made him to tag along with the New York Knicks for the NBA Summer League and was signed on August 1, 2016, by the Knicks. He played his first match for the team on October 25, 2016, he recorded in 7 minutes 5 points and 1 rebound but the Knicks, unfortunately, lost the match to Cleveland Cavaliers in a 117-88 defeat. He also scored 13 points on December 15, 2016, as the team suffered a 103 – 90 defeat against the state warriors. Ron Baker, on January 16, 2017, recorded his first career stats for the New York Knicks as he scored 12 points but they suffered yet another loss against Atlanta Hawks in a 108-107 narrow defeat.

On August 2017, Ron renewed his contract with the Knicks but unfortunately, he sustained an injury a few months after that while playing in his team’s winning match against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 30, 2017. This ruled him out of the season on February 5, 2018, after thorough medical examination. However, Ron was able to render an impressive performance in the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 Regular seasons, as he recorded a total of 81 game plays, 14 games started, 1.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 7 steals.

For the U.S national team, Ron Baker was among the representatives at the 2015 Pan American games where he earned himself a bronze medal.
