After college, Safiya started her web series which she titled Tiger Dad Comedy. She wrote, directed and produced the content of the comedy series which was very successful in its time. She later joined BuzzFeed in 2015 as a video production intern and subsequently grew to a video fellow and video producer in the company within the same year she started working with them.

Her time in BuzzFeed saw her work as a co-founding member and co-creator of the series Ladylike which was instrumental in helping the BuzzFeedYellow channel reach a subscriber base of 1.7 million active subscribers at the time.

Safiya was with BuzzFeed for 2 years before she departed on January 27, 2017. She made the announcement to her fans through her Instagram account and disclosed that she will be working full-time on her personal YouTube account from henceforth, making posts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday weekly.

On YouTube, she uploads videos on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays which was quite different from what her fans were expecting. However, this has not made her unpopular on the platform, rather, she enjoys a loyal subscriber base of over 4.1 million with millions and millions of views on her videos.
