He was born on November 8, 1987, to his parents Kent and Martha Bradford in Oklahoma. Though he is of American nationality, Bradford is also regarded as an NFL player of Cherokee descent. This started after it was revealed that his father’s grandmother Susie Walkingstick was a full-blooded Cherokee. Following the revelation, Bradford went down in history as the first Cherokee to begin at quarterback for a Division 1 university.
Sam Bradford was a student at Putnam City North High School. While at the school he took part in several sports for the school’s team. Following his high school stints, he was issued an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma which he accepted. Sam was redshirted as a freshman and subsequently, he became the starter in the year 2007.
Bradford refused to participate in the 2009 NFL Draft. He instead opted to return to Oklahoma for his junior season. At the 2010 NFL Draft, he was elected as the first overall pick by St. Louis Rams and signed a six-year contract worth $78 million. The quarterback missed the 2014 season due to an injury he sustained but soon recuperated and was and made played impressively for The Mob Squad.
In March 2015 he joined the Philadelphia Eagles in an exchange for Nick Foles. Afterward, he moved to the Minnesota Vikings in 2016 in an exchange for a 2017 NFL Draft first-round pick. He played in 2016 as well as in the 2017 season with the Vikings, before he signed a 2-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals in March 2018.
