Scottie Nell Hughes Bio (Age)

Scottie Nell Hughes was born on June 21, 1980. While nothing is known about her father, her mother is Linda Semler. The American journalist was brought up as an only child. However, she had had a brother named Cliff Pelc who died at the age of eight, eight years before she was born.

Cliff lost his life after he was shot by the son of his nanny who was at the time 12 years old. The older boy got the weapon in a nightstand. Although no charges were filed, Scottie’s mother had always believed that the tragedy was not an accident. She felt the nanny’s son might have murdered Cliff out of jealousy from thinking that he was not loved by his mother as much as she did the younger child.

With no sibling, she grew up rather lonely and always wondering what it would be like if she had had her brother around. She still has the picture of Cliff around her house.

Despite how she lost her only brother, the strong Conservative would later in the future defend the rights of individuals to bear arms arguing that the problem is not guns but the evil in the hearts of men.

For her education, Hughes graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in broadcast communications/political science.

She began her career in her hometown of Nashville Tennessee where she worked as an executive producer on the conservative program on radio, the Steve Gill Show. From then, she continued to work on radio in different producing capacities with The Rusty Humphries Show and The Michael Berry Show among others.

The American news anchor may have her eyes set on politics. She revealed in 2016 that she was approached by some to consider the congressional race if Diane Black decides on contesting for the governorship of Virginia. Although she actually considered it, she did not pursue the cause.
