Selena Gomez is an American singer and actress born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her dad is Ricardo Gomez a Mexican while her mom Amanda Cornett is of Italian decent. Amanda is a former stage actress. Her parents named her after Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, a Grammy winning American singer and fashion designer also known as the Queen of Tejano Music.
Selena’s mom had her when she was just 16 and when Selena was five years old, her parents separated leaving her in the care of her mom. Amanda had to work three jobs to cater for her daughter. Selena also spent part of her early years with her grandparents, who raised her while her parents were completing their high school education.

Selena first got motivated to go into the entertainment industry after watching her mom rehearse for her theater productions. Her passion for entertainment grew afterwards and she began auditioning for different roles. During one of the auditioning, Selena met Demi Lovato, the duo were selected to appear in children series Barney And Friends, they later became good friends and eventually Disney Stars. Selena’s break came when she was selected to star as Alex Russo in Disney movie Wizards Of Waverly Place.

So maybe, just maybe Jelena could be back again. The drama seems to be far from over.
