The film which is based on the 1986 novel of the same name, written by Stephen King, had Lillis as one of the top characters fans looked out for and although she played a supporting role in the film, it marked the beginning of her rise to stardom. The TV actress is also known for starring in the 2013 film A Midsummer Night’s Dream. 

 Sophia Lillis Biography, Age

She was born on February 13, 2002, with an Irish, Polish and Swiss-German ancestry. Lilles was born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York City. She was raised by her mother Juliana, and step-father Christopher Mellevold and she has a twin brother named Jake, and a stepbrother whose name is Philip.

Sophia began her career as an actress from the young age of 7 when she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Manhattan, New York after her stepfather picked her to play a role in Virgil’s Day Off, a short film based on Dante’s Inferno. Her next appearance on the screen was in 2013 when she starred as Addie in a short film titled The Lipstick Stain and then in the film A Midsummer Night’s Dream and 37 before her breakthrough role as Beverly Marsh in the horror film, It, also known as It: Chapter One. There, Sophia was marked as the only female member of the group of friends known as the Losers’ Club. Before her role in It, Sophia signed a contract with an agent and started auditioning for roles in short films like The Garden where she starred as Luc. The short film Tiny Mammal could also be included as one of the top films that helped her rise to stardom.

Through the success of the 2017 horror film, Sophia was among the top two actors who were able to cash in on the more than $700 million in box office receipts. She got $65,000 for the first film and is set to receive $250,000 with a bonus of about $150,000 for her exceptional performance in the sequel. It won the Fright Meter Award, IGN People’s Choice Award, and the Golden Trailer award.

Sophia’s net worth is still not known but it is believed that the young actress is earning much from her TV roles. Additionally, she has featured in a music video of Sia titled Santa’s Coming for Us followed by the song Nothing to Find by The War on Drugs.

Sophia is expected to appear in the 2018 TV series Sharp Objects. In 2017, she participated in the MTV Movie & TV Awards as a presenter at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles where she currently lives.
