Biography

Stacey Dooley was born Stacey Jaclyn Dooley on the 9th of March, 1987 in Luton, Bedfordshire, where she was raised by mostly her mother, Diane, after her father chose to abandon the family when she was about 2 and a half years old. To provide for the family, Dooley’s mother had to work several jobs such as cleaning houses and working at a pub.

For her education, Dooley attended Stopsley High School but around the age of 16, she left school to take a job as a shop assistant at Luton Airport and then as a hairdresser in Bramingham. While working her regular job to make ends meet, Dooley worked her way to appear as a participant on the documentary TV series Blood, Sweat and T-shirts in April 2008. Her appearance and performance on the show earned her her own series, Stacey Dooley Investigates, which began airing in August 2009.

By 2010, the show was being aired in Australia, among other places, which was a testament to the kind of work she was doing. Some of the issues her documentary looked at in the early stages of the show include child soldiers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, sex trafficking and underage sex slavery in Cambodia, tourism and its consequences in Thailand and Kenya, etc.

In 2011, Stacey Dooley put together the CBBC series Show Me What You’re Made Of which follows British children as they travel across the world to experience some of the world’s toughest jobs being done by their counterparts elsewhere. That same year, she filmed My Homegrown Fanatics, where she got to interview Islamists and members of the English Defence League, a UK-based Islamophobic group. In recent times, Dooley has presented more light-hearted shows like the children’s documentary series on CBBC, The Pets Factor before going ahead to take part in shows like Celebrities on the NHS Front-line and Strictly Come Dancing.

It is not clear how much Dooley gets paid but if the wages of her peers is anything to go by, she receives a fair amount of wages for her Stacey Dooley Investigates documentary series that airs on BBC Three. Is She Married? Who is Her Husband, Boyfriend, or Partner?

Stacey Dooley is not married but she, however, has a boyfriend. Dooley has reportedly been in a long-term relationship with the personal trainer and fitness guru, Sam Tucknott, the founder of the personal training company, Pro-Fit, in 2013.

Unlike his girlfriend, Tucknott is not very well known to the public although he is not a stranger to fame and does very well for himself. Before turning to a career in fitness, Tucknott was on his way to becoming a professional footballer. At the age of 12, he joined the Crystal Palace Academy where he rose through the ranks. During that time, he represented England and Wales in international youth FIFA and UEFA tournaments before suddenly abandoning the game.

Together, Dooley and Tucknott appear to be very much in love and are enjoying every bit of each other’s company. Although the couple like to keep their personal life private, they occasionally often share romantic tributes to each other on social media, specifically when Dooley was competing on Strictly Come Dancing as her man proved to be her biggest cheerleader, cheering her to victory.
