Superorganism – Biography & Profile Of The Pop Band

The indie pop band was founded by eight friends in 2017. It is quite imperative to note that the members passed through challenges before coming together as a group. Prior to their formation, they met each other through mutual friends, as well as online musical platforms. Their origin could be traced back to the New Zealand pop band group called The Eversons.

Prior to their formation, four members of the band, including Timothy Shann, Mark Turner, Blair Everson, and Christopher Young, were members of The Eversons. The band’s vocalist, Orono Noguchi, a college student in Maine, met those four while they were touring Japan in 2015. Orono who has been a super fan of the band attended their show and was able to connect with The Eversons.

On discovering that Orono could sing and has been posting covers of songs on her SoundCloud page, the group sent her a message, asking for her help to add lyrics to the demo of their song, Something For Your M.I.N.D. The song was later featured on the soundtrack of FIFA 2018.

After graduating from John Bapst Memorial High School in June 2017, Orono moved over to London to join the rest of the group. Two other members of the group, Ruby and B who are background vocalists and instrumentalists also joined. The last member of the group Earl Ho, a South Korean background vocalist, also joined aftewards. Earl is the only member of the group that resides in Sydney, Australia.

After coming together in 2017, Superorganism was born. They live in a live-in studio, a terraced house situated in the East End of London. After their formation, the band embarked on their first project which is their first single titled Something For Your M.I.N.D. in 2017. Later in the same year, they followed it up with two other singles including It’s all Good and Nobody Cares.

2018 became an incredibly successful year for Superorganism as the group launched their first self-titled studio album. The album was released in March 2018 via Domino Recording Company and it dominated music charts in the UK and Ireland. As a result of their astute performance, their debut album fetched them their first MTV Awards nomination later in the year. In October 2018, Superorganism also went on a musical tour in Ireland and UK, alongside the Japanese band called CHAI.

The indie band has equally done some collaborative works. They covered Utada Hikaru’s song, Phatkchi no Uta for the promotion of her album Hatsukoi in June 2018.
