The multi-talented Tavon Austin is a pro-American football player associated with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. Drafted by the St. Loius Rams as the eighth overall pick in the NFL draft of 2013, Austin was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2013. He completed his high school career at Dunbar High School in Baltimore and his college career at West Virginia Mountaineers.

Tavon Austin first came into this world on March 15, 1990. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States of America. He is of Afro-American ethnic descent and holds an American nationality. Austin grew up in Baltimore where he attended Dunbar High School. While at Dunbar High, Austin participated in various sporting activities including football as well as other track and field events.
During his high school career, Austin played the position of a running back for the school team; he led the team to win three Class 1A championships. In his senior year, Austin had 34 touchdowns, 12 punt returns for 446 yards; as well as 2,660 rushing yards with 218 carries. He won Maryland Consensus Offensive Player of the Award twice and also made the Consensus All-State first-team. He held the state records for touchdowns as well as rushing yards and offense with career points of 790.
While in college, Tavon Austin played for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team for four seasons ending in 2012. Tavon Austin was drafted by the St. Louis Rams as the 8th overall selection in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. He signed up with the Rams with a four-year contract worth $12.751 million including a signing bonus of $7.653 million. During his rookie year, he played 13 games for the Rams and recorded 40 receptions with 418 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. He was named NFC Special teams Player of the Week in Week 10 after an outstanding performance against Indianapolis Colts. He led the Rams to a win with a 38-8 record.
In his sophomore year in 2014, he had 31 receptions for 242 receiving yards and was named a Pro Bowl alternate as a returner behind and Devin Hester. He had his best season in 2015; recording 52 receptions with 473 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. He extended his contract with the Rams in 2016 with another four-year deal of $42 million. Austin finished the 2016 season having 58 receptions with 509 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.
Austin recorded a dramatic drop in his production for the Rams in 2017 season. He had career lows of 9 receptions with 47 receiving yards and no touchdown. In 2018, Austin Tavon was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for their 2018 sixth-round draft pick. Austin was raised by his mother, Cathy Green along with his siblings. He is the oldest of four siblings and has a brother named Dunbar Carlos Austin. His dogged determination and continuous improvement started right from his childhood days. He was inspired by his two older cousins named Aaron Thompson and Shawn Waller. Thompson played as a running back in Baltimore and linebacker in Maryland college.
Austin always tagged along while Thompson was doing workouts. Waller also played basketball in college and coached youth sports teams.
