Here is all you need to know about this fantastic player; his bio, family, height, weight and body measurements.

Teez Tabor’s Bio

Teez was born on the 31st day of December 1995 as Jalen Tabor. He schooled at Friendship Collegiate Academy Washington, D.C. At the school, he began showing his skills in the game of soccer and was rated as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com.  Tabor initially agreed to play for the  University of Arizona but would change his mind and decided to go with the University of Florida.

Teez began playing for the University of Florida in 2004 as a freshman, under coach . He played a total of 12 games that season and ended it with 5 starts, 31 tackles, two sacks and an interception. The next season, coach Muschamp was replaced by Jim McElwain.

Under the new coach, Tabor played nine out of the thirteen games that season with a  record of 39 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 1 sack, he became the first-team All-SEC selection that season. He earned his second first-team All-SEC selection in 2016 and forgo his senior season for a professional career with the NFL.

Professional Career

Forgoing his senior season, Teez Tabor began seeking for an opportunity to play in the National Football League (NFL) and his first stop was the NFL combine. NFL draft experts and analysts were all positive that Tabor was very promising and would be selected in the first round pick following his invitation to the NFL combine.

However, they soon began to reconsider their initial projections after Teez Tabor began to put up unimpressive performances. He attended Florida’s Pro Day, where he attempted both the 40-yard, 20-yard, and 10-yard dashes, which all ended in slower times. He didn’t give up but proceeded to private workouts organized by the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions. His draft stocks began to drop rapidly and experts projected he would fall to the second or third round.

At this point, Tabor was still able to hold a position among the top ten cornerbacks as Sports Illustrated still ranked him the 8th best cornerback in the draft. ESPN and NFLDraftScout.com ranked him 12th best in the draft.

Teez Tabor was eventually drafted by the Detroit Lions as their 53rd overall in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He agreed to a four-year contract with the Lions worth $4.82 million, which included a $2.33 million guaranteed money and a $1.64 million bonus.

He became the 9th cornerback to be drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft and was reunited with Jarrad Davis (his Florida teammate) who was also drafted by the Lions as their 21st overall. Tabor became the 4th of 8 Florida Gators to be drafted into the NFL that year.

He began the season competing for the starting cornerback position with D. J. Hayden and Nevin Lawson and was soon named the team’s 4th cornerback to begin his rookie season behind not just veterans like Nevin Lawson, and D. J. Hayden but also Darius Slay.

Tabor’s professional debut came in a game against Minnesota Vikings which ended in a 14–7 win.

His Family

The NFL professional tries as much as possible to keep his private and family away from the media and he has succeeded to an extent in this regard. His father’s name is not known but his mother is Merri Tabor.

Wondering how he got the name Teez? Tabor revealed in an interview that friends and family actually began calling him Teez when he was in middle school and that he is used to it and prefers the name over Jalen. Among other tattoos that he has, you would find the name Teez tattooed on his arm.
