After almost a decade as husband and wife, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum dropped a divorce bombshell on their millions of fans on in April 2018. The duo used to be one of the most loved celebrity couples but that wasn’t enough to keep them going. In their statement, in true celebrity style, they gave a slight insight into the reason behind their split, asking for understanding from their myriad of fans. The predominant message in the statement released was that they fell out of love but will remain good friends, at least for the sake of the daughter they share together.
Relationship Timeline
They first began dating while filming the 2006 film, Step Up. The romance between their characters in the dance-centric film was very convincing and it didn’t come as a surprise when they took it to the real world. The movie didn’t just see the start of an admirable romantic journey, it also made them famous.
They became one of the beloved couples in Hollywood and in 2009, after dating for three years, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan became husband and wife, following their wedding held at a private home in Malibu, CA. It was a fairytale event; literally, the venue had fairytale-inspired decorations. After their wedding, they continued to enjoy blissful moments together which was perfected with the birth of their daughter, Everly Tatum, in 2013.

Interestingly, though the passion they felt when they first met died off, they maintained a healthy friendship and still love and respect each other. Jenna has since switched back to her old surname which she had dropped for her husband’s name.
