Ranked as one of the best high school basketball players in the country in his high school senior year, Lyles was sought heavily by teams such as the Kentucky Wildcats, Indiana Hoosier, and Louisville Cardinals. The power forward was also rated a five-star recruit by Rivals, Scout, ESPN and 247 Sport. Here is all there is to know about him, his career, family and body statistics.

Career

Trey Lyles began building his basketball career from high school with the support of his dad who has been his basketball coach cum trainer. During his freshman year in 2010, he committed to Indiana but later de-committed in 2012.

On November 5, 2013, Lyles signed a letter of intent to play and study at the University of Kentucky. He averaged 23.7 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists during his senior year and led his school team to the IHSAA Class 4A State Championship game in a 63-59 win over Lake Central.

At the conclusion of his senior year at Arsenal Tech, Lyles was voted as the state of Indiana’s Mr. Basketball. He didn’t have a good start on getting into college at Kentucky on June 12, 2014. An unspecified leg injury kept him inactive for seven days (August 10-17) at Kentucky’s six-game exhibition series in Nassau, Bahamas.

Nevertheless, he didn’t fail to exhibit an outstanding skill and was named the 2015 All-SEC Freshman Team, as well as helped lead the Wildcats to a 2015 NCAA Final Four appearance.

Lyles debuted professionally after being selected 12th overall by Utah Jazz in the 2015 NBA draft and his skills in the game include: running, dribbling, jumping, shooting and passing. Over his first two months of his rookie season, the power forward averaged 3.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

He scored in double figures for the first time with 13 points against the Houston Rockets on January 4 and a few days later, on January 9, he recorded 10 rebounds in a victory over the Miami Heat and followed it up with a season-high 19 points in a loss to the Sacramento Kings.

The following month, Lyles was named a Rising Stars Challenge participant at the 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend. Through the entire seasons with Utah (2015-2017), he played in 151 games, making a total of 534 rebound and 928 points.

Trey Lyles was traded to the Denver Nuggets along with the draft rights to on June 22, 2017. So far, he has played in 73 games with the Nuggets, making, 347 rebounds and a whopping 724 points. He scored a career-high 26 points on Jan 5, 2018, in a 99-91 victory over his former team, the Utah Jazz.

In his career, Lyles has represented both Canada and the United States. Part of his noteworthy achievements is his active participation in Canada’s Junior men’s national team where he led the country to an all-time-best 6ht-place finish at the 2013 FIBA Under-19 World Championship; he came second to teammate Tyler Ennis in scoring at the tournament.

Salary

As worthy of a basketball pro, Lyles earns a substantial salary while enjoying the game. However, the exact amount is not known. As of 2015, his net worth was reported to be $2.24 million. Not bad for one with a long and bright basketball future ahead of him.

Lyles’s body measurements are just right for the sports he loves so much. His moves, skills and techniques in the basketball court have received wide appreciation, without any major criticism. He stands tall at an impressive height of 2.08 m and weighs 113 kg.
