After high school, the TV host proceeded to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Baylor University where he was a member of a popular fraternity known as Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He graduated in 1985.

He began his career New York City – at NBC News at Sunrise – where he specifically served as a reporter. He would later move around several stations such as WMGC-TV, WFMZ-TV, WICZ-TV, and KSDK-TV before finally settling at ESPN. At ESPN, he became very popular for his show with fellow presenter, titled Golic and Wingo and also for his appearances on NFL Live. He has covered the NFL Draft for all seven rounds since 2017 and was also a co-host of NFL 2Night.
