Tricia Helfer is a Canadian-born actress, TV host and a retired model. She first came into the limelight as a model in the 1990s before veering into acting in the early 2000s. The multitalented star became well known to TV audiences for her main role as “Number Six” on the hit Sci-Fi series Battlestar Galactica.

In recent times, Tricia Helfer has come to be recognized for her main role as Charlotte Richards on the FOX drama series Lucifer. The talented actress also has a number of film credits to her name but definitely, the small screen is her forte. Helfer equally lent her voice to the role of Sarah Kerrigan in the StarCraft video game series.

Tricia Helfer’s Bio

Tricia Janine Helfer was born on April 11, 1974, in Donalda, Alberta, Canada. She has German, English, Swedish and Norwegian ancestry. Her parents are Dennis and Elaine Helfer and she has three sisters Trina, Tammy, and Tara. The family owned a grain farm and she was raised there alongside her siblings.

At the age of 17, Helfer was spotted by a modelling scout while waiting in line at a local movie theater and this marked the beginning of her journey to runway stardom. She won the 1992 edition of the international modeling contest Supermodel of the World which earned her a juicy contract with foremost modeling agency Ford Models. Helfer’s career as a fashion model spanned for 10 years during which she walked the runways of some of the biggest fashion brands in the world and also graced the covers of many major fashion magazines.

The multi-talented star announced her retirement from the modeling business in 2002 at a time when her acting career was just taking off. Helfer moved to Los Angeles afterward in a bid to pursue a full-time acting career. She marked her professional acting debut on an episode of the series Jeremiah (2002) followed by another guest role on the hit crime series CSI (2002). In 2003, she landed her breakout role as the humanoid Cylon Number Six in the sci-fi miniseries Battlestar Galactica. Helfer’s brilliant performance in the initial miniseries earned her a spot on the main cast of TV series Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009).

Other notable Tricia Helfer TV credits include Dark Blue (2010), The Firm (2012), the animated series Tron: Uprising (2012-13) and a countless number of guest roles. Helfer also headlined the short-lived crime drama series Killer Women (2014) in which she played the lead character Molly Parker and she also had a recurring role on season 2 of the digital series Powers (2016).

More recently, the talented actress landed a spot on the main cast of the fantasy drama series Lucifer (2016-present) in which she portrays the character Charlotte Richards/Mom. The show was originally canceled by Fox TV after four seasons but it got renewed in June 2018 for a fourth season by Netflix.

Husband, Divorce

Tricia Helfer was previously married to Jonathan Marshall, an attorney. The two are reported to have met at the birthday party of a mutual friend and their wedding ceremony took place on October 18, 2003. Their marriage lasted for well over a decade, however, the couple parted ways in May 2017 and a few months later, Helfer filed for divorce in January 2018.

Tricia is 5 feet 10½ inches (179 cm) tall. She sports an enviable trim figure at a body weight of 58 kg (128 lb). She has a bust size of 34 inches (86 cm) and her waist and hip measurements are 24 inches (61 cm) and 34 inches (86 cm) respectively.

Tricia Helfer was ranked #57 on Maxim magazine’s list of Hot 100 Women of 2007. The model-turned-actress equally graced the cover of the February 2007 issue of Playboy magazine.

Helfer has 2 discs in her lower back resulting from mishaps which occurred while she performed her own stunts. She also got 4 similar discs in her back and 2 in her neck after suffering an accident in which a piece of luggage landed on her head while sitting in a passenger plane.

Tricia Helfer created the charity company “Acting Outlaws” in collaboration with fellow actress and longtime friend who was her co-star on Battlestar Galactica. The company raises funds and creates awareness for different charity causes ranging from animal rescue to the cleanup of the Gulf of Mexico.
