Luke Wilson is one fellow who has made a name for himself by portraying the good guy love interest in various rom-com. The American actor is also renowned for being part of three brothers who have all gone on to become Hollywood stars. Wilson’s elder brothers not only gave him a head start in Hollywood but have consistently worked with him through the years. How Luke Wilson Began His Career 

Luke Cunningham Wilson was born on the 21st of September 1971 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Dallas and completed his high school diploma at a local catholic school. He subsequently attended Occidental College, Los Angeles, but dropped out to explore his newly-discovered passion for acting.

The young man later made his screen debut in the 1994 short film, Bottle Rocket. Bottle Rocket was initially a 15-minute-long film that revolves around the attempts of three friends to become successful robbers. The film was directed by Wes Anderson, while Wilson portrayed one of the thieving amigos. Bottle Rocket had a successful premiere at the 1993 Sundance Film Festival and was consequently turned into a full-length film in 1996.

Luke Wilson initially ran the risk of being typecast in his Hollywood career. This was because of his penchant for always portraying clean-cut, good guy roles in several light-hearted films. They include movies such as The Royal Tenenbaums, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Home Fries, Best Men, Alex and Emma, The Third Wheel, Henry Poole is Here, Hoot, Measure of a man, and Legally Blonde.

However, he regained control of his career by taking an occasional walk on the dark side. The Dallas native has featured in heavy-duty stuff such as Vacancy, Kill The Man, Blue Streak, Meeting Evil, and Guest of Honour. Guest of Honour is a 2019 drama that follows Veronica, a high school teacher who is jailed for a crime she did not commit. Upon leaving jail, Veronica enlists the help of an empathetic priest to explore her relationship with her late father. The film featured the likes of Daniel Thewlis and Laysla De Oliveira, while Wilson portrayed the role of the priest.

Relationship with His Brothers, Andrew and Owen

Luke Wilson is not the only Wilson who is making waves in Hollywood. His two elder brothers, namely Andrew and Owen, are also bonafide Hollywood stars. Andrew has scored minor roles in movies such as Father Figures, Fever Pitch, Captain Marshall, Rushmore, Charlie’s Angels, etc. He has also directed a few films. including The Wendell Baker Story.

Similarly, Owen is undoubtedly the most successful Wilson. He has featured in several comedic blockbusters, including Shanghai Noon, Zoolander, Wedding Crashers, You, Me and Dupree, and The Grand Budapest Hotel, etc. He is also an acclaimed writer and has received an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay.

Luke Wilson maintains a warm relationship with his brothers. All three brothers have also collaborated professionally on several productions, including Bottle Rocket and The Wendell Baker Story. The Wendell Baker Story is a 2005 indie drama in which a kind-hearted ex-con, Wendell, takes on a corrupt nursing home official named Neil.

Luke portrayed the role of Wendell while elder brother, Owen, played the Neil. Andrew, on the other hand, co-directed the film. Luke has since disclosed that he and his brothers disagreed a lot while on set for the production of the movie. They, however, settled their artistic differences amicably and would be working together with each other in the nearest future.

At the height of his Hollywood career, Luke Wilson enjoyed a fascinating love life. He was romantically linked with a bevy of talented ladies. He also embarked on confirmed relationships with several A-listers such as Drew Barrymore (1997 – 1999) and Gwyneth Paltrow (2001 – 2002). The Legally Blonde star also had a long-term relationship with a former basketball player, Meg Simpson. They dated for six years before calling things off in November 2014.

Since then, Wilson has maintained a pretty much uneventful love life. There is no known reason for his single status. The actor has, however, disclosed that he would dearly love to be a father someday and that he would soon be getting started on that project. It, therefore, sounds like his bachelorhood days will soon be a thing of the past.
